For the soap, try a couple of drops or a few spritzes of your favorite cologne in your lather bowl as you whip up the soap.

    Hello Ladies and Gentleman,

here now my Shave of the Day October 27th.:

    -hot shower
-face wash with Axe Chilled Face wash
    -HJM Black Synthetic Fibre Brush
    -Martin de Candre Unscented (sample)
    -Vintage Bakelite Slant
-Wilkinson Sword Blade / Astra combination
    -Pino Silvestre Aftershave

A good but not enjoying shave. My skin was very irritated during the whole weekend. So, i had the feeling that the Vintage Bakelite Slant is a little more aggressive as i thought before (or it came from my irritated skin). The soap had an light citrus scent which i liked very much and in combination with the AS it is a nice scent compilation.

My face burns a little bit right now and its not feeling as well as i should like it to have. :( But there are a few more shaves to do...So let´s get it on!!! :)

May all of you have a great start into the new wek.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Gillette Fusion Proglide Power
    Proglide cartridge (16)
    Barbasol 'Skin Conditioner' shave cream
    Witch Hazel
    Gillette Cool Wave

Another fine DFS+ with the Fusion Proglide and Barbasol. I'm very happy with these products, even stunned by the close effortless shaves I'm getting. Aces!

    SUNDAY
    No internet all morning...

    a. PRE: Hot shower, Homemade Cedarwood PSC
    b. RAZOR: Merkur 39c 'The Sledgehammer'
    c. BLADE: Astra SP
    d. BRUSH: Semogue SOC
    e. LATHER: DR Harris 'Marlborough' Soap
    f. SHAVE: Two passes + touch-up
    g. POST: Cold water rinse, Blackriver AS , Shea butter balm

The more I use this big slant-bar razor, the more I consider it my 'favorite!' Wonderfully-smooth razor that provides a comfortable and amazingly close shave...every time! 2-pass BBS and not a hint of irritation. If you have not tried a slant razor, you are really missing out on a great shaving experience. ;)

I am getting more convinced that I do not care all that much for this brush. As mentioned before, it does the job. But not in a way that I enjoy all that much.
But I guess it is all about the boat and how it float, right? :)

I was on the same "quest" when I purchased the Lijun brush. However as mentioned above, it was not quite what I was looking for. My brush has too much backbone. I can only compare it to the Proraso boar, but this feels much more comfortable to use. And it lathers the face much better than the Lijun.
To be frank, I am not quite sure how I can explain it. But I do hope that both you and Mr. Rollah will enjoy your for years to come.
And thank you for your comments about my posts. I appreciate that :)

    Prep: FitjarSoap Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Merkur HD
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: Merkur Futur
    Cream: Fitjarsoap Frost Rose
Aftershave: Proraso, but forgot to put it on J
    Moisturiser: Fitjarsoap Shea Butter Moisturiser.

Today I tried the Frost Rose cream. This is Fitjarsoap’s entry to the Sharpologist Scent of 2013 competition.
A very pleasant rose scent, with a touch of menthol in it. Not enough to feel the cold, but just enough to detect a hint of winter. Very elegantly done, I must say.

I also used what is one of my favourite blades. The original Polsilver blade. A very sharp, but also very smooth blade and a joy to use. Too bad it has been discontinued

I was also looking forward to a splash of Proraso to finish of this shave. But sadly I forgot all about it. :(

    Speick SC
    Semogue 1800
Fatip grande loaded with a Astra SP (2)
    Alum
    Pitralon pure

    No pics today.
This is my fourth shave with the Fatip and the first one I enjoyed. Seems it has a sweet spot angle, and when you hit it...it just glides over your face, I hardly even felt it :)
The Semogue 1800 is performing great since day one it produces loads of lather from everything, I just can't wait for it to break in.
The Speick and Pitralon scent combination left me smelling like a old man, but an old man with a smooth shaven face with no irritation :D

    Sunday

    CeraVe facial cleanser
    Mike's natural soap, unscented
    HIS synthetic brush
    EJ DE89
    Super Iridium blade
    Alum block
    CeraVe lotion

I had a two-day stubble this morning. The Mike's soap made a very creamy lather. The DE89 and Iridium blade breezed through the workers without tugging or irritation. Exceptionally smooth and comfortable shave! BBS without trying. :D

Angle seems to be the key with the Fatip, although I do find the razor fairly forgiving for a perceived 'aggressive' razor. I agree with you on finding the 'sweet spot' & getting great shaves from there on in.

The Williams face-lathered with the Semogue very well. Just two passes on #7 with the Gillette Slim gave me a near BBS shave. Followed up with the Dickinson's WH and some Aqua Velva Ice Blue. Very nice shave.
