    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: Weishi 9306
Blade: Derby Extra Stainless Steel (day 3)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Cream: Musgo Real Classic
    Passes: 3 (WTG, XTG, ATG)
Post: warm then cold water rinse

Not the best shave today in terms of smoothness. Lather was good, no nicks or irritation on any of the passes, but my face is still a bit stubbly, mostly on the left side. Now that I think about it, as soon as I went to take my first ATG pass on that side of my face, I had to stop and think about how to hold the razor.

I was able to get a much better shave on my jaw line then in the past buy stretching out my face.

My face feels pretty dry again post shave :(

So a little bit stubbly and dry, but otherwise a nice, enjoyable shave!

It was a great shave this morning. The CoNT really had some kick to it and at first I thought I'd have to was it off because I hadn't felt a burn like that since something irritated my face, but I just let it sit and it died right off. What was left was a great scent that I don't know how to describe...but it's been lingering for a while now! :)

    Soap: Old Spice Cream
    Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim “6”
    Blade: Personna Lab (3)
    Brush: Omega 10066 Boar

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

3rd shave with the Personna Lab paired with Old Spice Cream today. OK, a good but not great shave with some tugging 2nd & 3rd passes. I used the Nivea Post Shave Balm and Old Spice AS to finish off today.

Shave of the Day, Thursday October 24, 2013
Prep: Brush soaked in cold water, tepid shower
    Razor: iKon Slant
    Blade: Shark Super Stainless Steel
    • Brush: Shavemac Limited Edition Shaving Brush 90
    Soap: D.R. Harris Windsor
    Splash: English Leather
Post: Cold Water Rinse, the remainder of aftershave
    [IMG]
I was finally able to loaded the blade and achieve proper alignment on the first attempt, I’m making progress! The iKon slant fails to disappoint when it comes to the shave, just getting the blade properly aligned as been the sole issue I have with it.

The Windsor always produces a great smelling and dense lather, I really need to use it more often. I was worried that I would not have enough English Leather to make me smell like Ron Burgundy, but I did.

I hope that each one of you have a great Thursday..

    THURSDAY
    1. Pre: Hot shower & face-towel; Homemade Citrus PSO
    2. Razor: Fatip / Ikon Bulldog II handle
    3. Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock SS
    4. Brush: Lijun Finest Badger 26mm
    5. Lather: Tabac Soap
    6. Shave: 3 pass + touch-up
    7. Post: Cold water rinse; Alum block, Pre De Provence balm

The Fatip a bit more aggressive (feel the blade!) than the Futur (granted, I had the Futur on a mild setting); more like the R41 in how it feels on the face. Light touch required, but I was rewarded with a very close, smooth shave with no weepers, nicks nor irritation. Qualifies as a BBS result. New Lijun badger is not only soft & luxurious feeling, but also quite the lather hog!

    Happy Thursday, all!

I saved the shave with the Morley for last of the new arrivals solo shaves. I had to do quite a bit of work to get it cleaned up and shiney again but it was worth it. The Morley shaves like a dream and delivered an outstanding performance. All the newly aquired razors have found a spot in my rotation and are welcome additions. I went with the Proraso creams this morning as I have a tube that needs to be used up. I have a new tube of the Proraso SC to use whenever this one finally gives up the ghost. It seems like these "end of tubes" takes forever to finish up! :D

Great looking shave there Kevin! I have been noticing the Lijun brush and was curious as to what everyone thought about it. The soft and luxurious has came accross quite a bit and if it is a reasonable price, it looks like a good value. Does the knot have good backbone or is it floppy? Whats your take on the quality of this Chinese import? News at Eleven! :D

    But...in a good way! :D

Prep: Hot shower, Crown Co. Supreme Glide Pre-shave Lotion
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss Glycerin-in-a-jar
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG. XTG
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB
Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes

I will hit that perfect lather ratio again. . . but it wasn't today. The lather smells great, and feels wonderful on my skin, but wasn't quite enough cushion for 3 passes, so I made do with a 2-pass DFS today. Returning to the Bic after the brief foray into Dorco country felt wonderful, though the Dorco gave me little to complain about.

Bruce, being this is only my first REAL shave using this Lijun brush, consider it merely an initial impression. It is a heavy brush, a solid-feeling black resin handle with good weight and balance. I appreciate the rounded edges throughout as the shape is quite comfortable to hold. The knot is thick, dense and fairly stiff to the touch when dry. Like most badger brushes—and unlike the boars I've been using frequently — after a good soak, it holds an ample amount of water. A couple of good shakes of the brush & onto the puck of Tabac it went. There was absolutely no problem generating a good, thick lather quickly with this brush. It felt quite soft on the face, but firmer (more backbone) than my silvertips from WD, and not as floppy as my taller omegas tend to be. It had many of the good characteristics I enjoy about my Semogues— firm, soft tips, excellent lathering ability. The fact that the Lijun held a substantial amount of lather allowed full-face lathering in no time. Whether it will continue to perform, or lose hairs, remains to be seen. The knot seems quite tight with no apparent shedding.
So overall, even after my first shave with it, I consider the Lijun a darn fine brush, and for the price (I got this 'previously owned' for under $20), a very good value.
