    Shower: Mountain Organix (Dark Ale)

    Razor: Parker 22R
    Blade: Astra
    Soap: Daisy Mountain Naturals (Sedona)
    Brush: The Body Shop

I am trying Mountain Organix soap. It is local, but sold online on in a few stores. Here is my review. The cleansing and skin care are pretty good. The scents are a bit too subtle for me. I like a bit more boldness in the scent area. But overall a nice soap and a heafty bar at 5.5 ounces.

Had a nice DFS near BBS shave today! Happy shaves!

Personally, I don't buy into a brush specifically for bowl lathering or face lathering. I can understand folks having a preferance, but no brush I have seen or heard of has been labeled, "Desinged for ____ lathering."

I am at the hotel, getting ready to head out for my flight. I got a couple of goodies delivered to the hotel. This is the first shave with the Cadet razor. I like it. I also tried the Alt Innsbruck for the first time and it is very nice as well. Very gentle third pass because I shaved just 18 hours ago. The LaToja shave stick is good too. There is little scent and it lathers very well. Good DFS+ shave today.

    Cheers, Lyndon

I don't call this stuff the great Tet-a-tet shaving cream and aftershave balsam for nothing - they both work so fantastically. The cream smells so nice, it lathers so well, and it has such terrific skincare with that refreshing, cool tingle. The balsam adds more cooling and prevents dryness and irritation, and the Rub completes the freeze after a super shave like this! ;) :D

    Homemade brush

I tried out a sample of C&S Oxford, very good soap, great scent, big price for a full puck. Excellent shave this morning. I have a few more samples of soap to try out this week that I received from a friend of mine plus a couple of brushes. A Kent BK4 and a large knotted Shavemac, it's always interesting to try out something new. Have a good one.

    • Prep: Brush soaking in cold water, One with Nature Dead Sea Salt Olive Oil Soap, tepid warm shower
    • Razor: Cadet Open Comb mounted to Edwin Jagger Handle
    • Blade: Shark Super Stainless
    • Brush: Semogue SOC Cherrywood Boar
    • Cream: Lea Sensitive Cream
    • AS: English Leather
    • Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave
It has been thirteen long days since the last time I have used an open comb, that is far too long! I have been testing razors so what is a guy to do? ;)

I decided to use the Cadet today (same as the RazoRock Jaws) as it has become my favorite open comb. For my face it out performs the FaTip, NEW SC, NEW LC, Old Type and 1904 OC hands down. Every shave when paired with the right blade is enjoyable and close, shaves similar to the R41 but without the "raw" feeling afterwards.

For those that have not tried the wonderful Lea creams from Spain I would highly recommend them. Great scent and performance and an outstanding price. I whipped up a nice bowl lather with the SOC Boar that was creamy, slick and wonderful.

    Preshave: Hot shower

Shave: Vulfix super badger brush; La' Occitane Cade shaving soap; 1930s Gillette Aristocrat Razor; Personna med prep blade [1]

Postshave: La' Occitane Cade aftershave balm

Good shave. 3 passes with a touchup spot pass. BBS.

I started off trying to bowl lather with La' Occitane (a go to soap for me) and it seemed to go well at first. The first pass was fine, but it did not have the marvelous lather to which I have become accustomed. I started the second pass from the bowl and, seeing it was not acceptable, I put my brush back into the soap and continued with face lathering. It was much better.

I admit that I have been face lathering now since early summer and have come to prefer that by far, but I am guessing that I have stumbled onto one of the reasons so many people have difficulty with La' Occitane soap. Nevertheless, for myself, I'm putting my shave bowl away now and sticking to face lathering.

Brush - shave factory boar hair
Soap – Col Conk bay rum

Didnt care much for the personna baldes. Left my face kind of raw. I used a lot of the soap and Im finding that I enjoy creams much more than the shaving soaps. I may have a bunch of soaps to PIF..
