Today’s shave was courtesy of my Japanese Suzumasa AA. I refreshed it some months ago and it performed beautifully. A top notch shave that made short work of any resistance offered by my stubble. It plowed through them like they were hardly even there. :happy093:

Tonight's shave was with a very smooth Sheffield made razor. I had a buttery smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero Issues.

    Pre-shave: hot shower
Shave Cream: Barbasol Sensitive Skin Travel Size Can http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...m-travel-can-experiment-sensitive-skin.57755/
    Razor: Gem Micromatic OC
Blade: Gem Blue Star (3rd or 4th use)
Post-shave: Dickinson WH, Nivea Sensitive PS Balm, Family Dollar Spice AS

I have no idea how much longer this travel size can of Barbasol is going to last. This is shave #15 and it still hasn't showed signs it is about to give up. I watched the Minnesota / Cleveland game this morning then took a quick shower and then shaved. It was a DFS too. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

    OCtober!!!

    October 29

Razor - 1918 Gillette Old Style
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Pre-Shave - Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap from Stirling
    Soap - Truefitt & Hill 1805
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

Final setup for OCtober so it's back to the old man of the collection. No, not me. The '18 Old Style will finish the month in style. I'm pairing it up with the T&H 1805. An old razor deserves an old soap maker. I added the pre-shave today and trusted the Jayaruh #54 to handle the lather. Which it did quite well once I got the water right. 1805 seems to be just a bit finicky on water and is a bit thirstier than I expect. Took me a couple of tries to get it right but we got there.

Did I mention the Feather blade in the Old Style? Yep, going aggressive all the way and the shave proved why that can be a good thing. Kept my concentration firmly on angle and keeping pressure off of the razor and did two passes and a few slides on the neck. As easy as that, the baby is in the house. Alum was mostly quiet. A few hot spots where I tend to get the corner of the blade in a bit harsh with this razor but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm looking forward to two more days with this razor.

It's been a fantastic month of great shaves for me, and that's something I don't often get! Yes, I know, some of that is self-inflicted, but it's always either to prove the power of technique or keep the troops entertained. Both are worthy goals. I think NOVember will be changing the quality of my shaves overall. We'll see.

Have a great start to your week!

That sounds ominous Neal. If you just had a great month, and you're going to change the quality of your shaves... Surely not a No Shave November?

I looked for a bearded photo of Mr. Leslie Nielsen. This guy stayed clean shaven from the 1950's until he passed in 2010.

RAZOR: Drug Mart CALIBER 5 Pivot Razor (disposable) - BARGAIN - 3 for $$2.99
BLADE: FIVE (*compare to Gillette Fusion 5 Blade razor)
    BRUSH: NO
PREP: hot water shower with Zest soap, hot water rinse
PRE SHAVE: Rite Aid RENEWAL skin cleansing cream
CREAM: Personal CARE Extra Thick SENSITIVE Shave Cream
    POST SHAVE: Hot water rinse
    AFTER SHAVE: Pinaud Clubman
    Caliber5_TopCareSensitiveSC_Clubman.jpg
The Caliber 5 is made by Personna for the Edgewell Personal Care Group- now under the Schick, Wilkinson Sword umbrella.
This one was private labeled for the Discount Drug Mart chain, and with sale price and instant coupon cost under $1 per razor.
Here is what caught my attention - MADE IN THE USA!
    Here are the specs:
Caliber 5® is a premium 5 blade disposable razor with double coated blades that provides a close and smooth shave.
Pivoting head, adjusts to the contours of your skin
    • Virtual Guard designed to ensure a safe shave
    • Ceramic coated blades for less drag & improved* comfort
    • Optimized soap bar profile to improve* skin flow & cartridge balance
    • Trimmer Blade for hard to shave areas...goatee, sideburns, under nose, and back of neck
I got a multi-pass (I stopped counting after 3) BBS shave from this very forgiving and extremely mild razor.
The lubricant strip also left my face well hydrated. It just was not a very fun shave. But honestly, I rushed through this one.
Maybe I need to spend more quality time with this platform.

Hope you all had a great Sunday.
