    Dove Men Face Wash
Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #25 WD Synthetic
    Merkur 15c OC/Gillette Super Speed* 1947 BYR
    Personna SS

    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #25 WD Synthetic brush. First pass with my Gillette Aristocrat (1947 Birth Year Razor) with a Personna Super blade followed by second pass with the Merkur 15c Open Comb razor gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Lilac Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    October - Trick or TREET
    October 28

    Razor - Gillette '46-'47 Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG](3)
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
Soap - TSD Lanolin Bay Rum
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea Original

Sanity returns today as the Aristocrat gets the Classic back for its third and final shave of the month. I went with the Pro 48 again and moved on the the TSD Lanolin instead of the Fat today. I'll be using only BoSFat exclusively in November so I won't use it again until Sunday. Give some other soaps a chance. The third day on the Classic was, surprisingly, extremely good. I really think the blade isn't done yet. However, I won't be giving it another day as I have one more to try. Still, very smooth, quite comfortable and that nice carbon feedback. Give this blade a good razor and it just sings. Even with the Rapira it got the job done. The classic is a TREET!

Tomorrow I load the New LC with the Treet 7 Day Platinum, a blade I hadn't even heard of until about a month ago. I'll finish OCtober with an open comb on an unknown blade on Halloween! Trick or TREET indeed!

@crackstar not sure if you've shaved with Polar Vortex yet but I've had a few goes with a sample of it. It lathers easily and I really like the post-shave feel. This soap worked well for me when I started with a drier brush and added water. When I did the lather quality was good-very good.

My thanks and compliments to Mr. Brian Hoffman for creating such an excellent soap. The Polar Vortex has excellent lather with a nice, mild scent as well as very good skincare. The menthol effect is not quite as intense as the Glacial soaps, but still very strong. I had great post-shave care from the Lucky Tiger a/s cream and of course, the Rubby Dubby Doo. BBS again and so easily and enjoyably! :happy088:

    Hello everyone.

    New razor, new brush today

    vielong Kopie.jpg

    - Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap
    - Vie-Long Horsehair Fan shape
    - Phoenix DOC
    - Sputnik Blade
    - Myrsol Agua Balsamica

The Phoenix Razor looks like a beast, but the shave is actually really mild. Surprinsingly clean first shave with 2 passes and some touchup. And I guess it will improve the more I use and become accustomed to it.

The brush ... well ... first impression was mixed. Really prickly - and similar handling to the Omega S-Brush (which I sold because I did not like it much). But maybe it just needs to be broken in properly. I'm still not sure horsehair is the best choice for face-lathering though.

    Thor's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
    Lather: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss soap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's witch hazel, Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails AS splash
Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes

I knew I forgot something at the store yesterday: more face-wash. So, considering I was using a new blade, with my beard having gotten less softening prep than normal, things went very well. I've found the bottom of the jar of the Oakmoss soap, as another incentive to buy more product, but the soap remaining produced great lather. The new Bic was extremely smooth and sharp, producing a 2-pass DFS that left no lingering redness or irritation.
