Notes: This was my first time in almost 3 years of wet shaving i have got to use the VDH soap. I know pretty shocking haha! I absolutely love this soap, and like all the good review's have said about this soap, it is all completely true. Has great lather, moisturizing property's, and provides great cushion! The Brush is pretty impressive for a cheap brush, i really enjoyed using it also. All around a great shave on a beautiful Ozark Sunday morning :)!

Sound like a bad blade to me. I find the Voskhod quite sharp. But....YMMV is always a issue when it comes to blades.

I have to agree with Jacob; I find the Voskhod Teflon blades to be quite good but, I know what you mean, "Once bitten, twice warned" and it will be hard for you to trust using another one with your bad experience. :signs081:

If and when I DO break out another Voskhod—and after hearing from two members whose opinions I respect, I shall give the blades another go—I will probably use a milder razor ( Merkur 38c) that may mask some of the blade's nastier tendencies, if present. Both the FaTip and the R41 seem to reveal ANY deficiencies that a particular blade may have.

The 38C would be a good choice for sure. The FaTip and R41 does exacerbate any blades negative characteristics especially that "tugging" feel due to the large blade exposure. I find the sharper the blade is; (Feather, Crystal, your fav sharpie) the smoother and better the shave with the FaTip and R41. :)

    Razor - Schick Paul Revere
    Blade - Schick Super SS
    Brush - BF Greenie
    Stick - Palmolive
    Post - Alum & Thayer's
    AS - Speick

First shave with the Schick the handle is really long. I felt like my hand was in the next room. Super great shave from it after 3-pass and mild touch-up.

I don't think anything I use leaves my face feeling better than the Speick After Shave. :happy005: I just wish the scent wasn't gone in 30 seconds. :(
