    Back to the Futur...again!

Pre: Hot Shower, Homemade Citrus PSO
    Razor: Merkur Futur (set@4)
    Blade: Feather Stainless
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Lather: Tabac Soap
    Shave: Two passes + touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, Shea butter cream

A more 'agressive' set up (Futur dialed up w/ a new Feather blade) this morn still resulted in a quite comfortable, close shave. The Futur shaves so close at this setting but you don't realize it until you feel your face after the 1st pass. No irritation or redness. Quality 2-pass BBS shave!
    Have a great week, all!

    CeraVe facial cleanser
    Petal Pusher Fancies unscented soap
    Mühle hjm black fiber brush
    Schick type I injector
    Personna blade
    Alum block
    CeraVe lotion

Nice lather, as usual, from the Petal Pusher soap. Three passes, good results, but the blade is clearly at its end, a little rough. I got some burn from the alum block. I should have replaced the blade immediately, but it is clearly done and it will be replaced next time.

    Proglide cartridge (17)
    Barbasol 'Skin Conditioner' shave cream
    Witch Hazel
    Krampert's Finest Bay Rum

A near BBS, a fantastic shave this morning, the best start to a busy week. Nothing like a comfortable and close shave to get me started. I'm going to keep using the lanolin Barbasol for awhile, since it's helping me to get such stellar shaves with the smooth Fusion Proglide. Aces!

Well Kiss My Face. Today was my first shave with KMF. After washing my face with the Dove Men's Face Wash, I took a dollop of KMF and spread it over my face. I then took my Frank Shaving badger brush (which had been soaking), shook out the water and began to make a nice lather on my face. I enjoyed the "cool mint" sensation on my skin. I set the Gillette Slim to 8 and did two passes for a near BBS shave. I rinsed with warm water and then with cold water. Wow, did that feel refreshing. The cool stuck around. Finished off with the Dickinson's WH and Pinaud Clubman AS. I'm refreshed and ready to go.

    Prep: FitjarSoap Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Merkur HD
    Blade: Polsilver (2)
    Brush: Merkur Futur
Soap: Tabac stick (Tabac is pronounced in an ominous voice)
    Aftershave: Tabac (see above)
    Moisturiser: D.R Harris Aftershave Milk

Tabac is no friend of mine, but in honour of this theme week, we agreed to set aside our differences and unite in shaveful harmony. And so we did.
The result was better than expected. The lather was not bad, the scent not too offensive and the shave ended up being a DFS.
Tabac will never win the Norse Grand Prix of shaving, and probably not even be in the top ten.
But I have to admit that I am getting more curious about trying the regular soap instead of the stick next time Tabac tickles my fancy (whatever that mean J )

The Tabac aftershave is another matter. Where the soap smells like something old and forgotten, the aftershave was surprisingly refreshing. A pretty good scent and I will not rule out a purchase sometime in the future.

The Polsilver blade is still pretty awesome. One of the best blades in show, I am sure of it.

Another shave with my straight. I'm getting better at this.

Prep: hot shower, TBS Maca Root Face Wash, TBS Maca Root Face Scrub.
    Brush: Turkish #6.
    Razor: Wester Bros. 5/8".
    Soap: Cella (first time use.)
Post: double cold water rinse, Krampert's Frostbite.

Guys, I am very satisfied with how my straight shaves are going. I missed a spot on my upper lip, but it's not even noticeable. I was also able to do the left side of my face with my left hand. One pass and a touch up got me a DFS shave. Don't let a straight razor intimidate you. This was my first time using Cella. I had a great first shave with it. The lather exploded. I probably could have shaved my dog if I wanted to, that's how much I had. I love the scent too. The lather was slick and it had plenty of cushion. The Turkish #6 is a sturdy performer. It also seems to be a very versatile brush. I love Krampert's Frostbite. I love freezing my face and this does it really well. It also moisturizes and tones my face too. I don't know why I have so many aftershaves when I all I have been using lately is Krampert's and Captain's Choice.

    #6 Horsehair
    Super Speed/Rapira day 2
    Nivea SC
    Balea Unscented Moisturizer
    Aramis Stick Deodorant
    Aramis EdT

A very good no-frills shave today. I don't use the Nivea cream often because I rarely think of it, but I enjoy it whenever I do. I absolutely love my horsehair brush and 1950s Super Speed - it's hard to beat them for performance. The Rapiras are not only very sharp, they're so smooth and they give such comfortable shaves with little effort. ;) :D

    Cella (in the scuttle)
Thayer's Witch Hazel with Aloe unscented
    TOBS St James AS

Second time using a SE razor after trying my 1912 Lather Catcher the other day. The Featherweight was much easier to handle and didn't seem as cumbersome as the 1912 but I've still got some learning to do. First time using Cella and I really like it. I decided to try pre-heating my scuttle and my first lather was just as warm as my second lather usually is so I think pre-heating is going to become a ritual for the rest of the colder months.

    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB

The only thing wrong with this morning's shave was that my beard doesn't grow quickly or densely enough for me to justify 3 passes today. The lather exploded without effort, the new blade slid across my face like warm butter, and there's almost no irritation at all save the still-healing slice across my Adam's Apple. DFS+ all around.

4th shave with the Gillette 7 O’Clock Yellow SE in the Slim. I used my Speick Stick this morning. They both did another great job: smooth, close, nick free. I finished with a sharp blast of Barbon and Nivea Post Shave Balm.
