I agree. It makes a difference for me, enough that I am thinking about Shea butter in other products. The was also helps reduce the redness I get from rosacea and any neck irritation.

My Veli, I know you enjoy the Lord cream. The tube is so small that it won't last so much longer so soon I'll re-supply you with it and some others which you like! ;)

    Razor : Wilkinson Sword Sticky
    Blade : Voskhod
    Brush : BF Greenie
    Stick : Speick
    AS : Speick

First Shave with the Sticky impressed so far. It is quite mild but I like mild so it is good for me. The shave after 3 passes plus heavy chasing BBS touch up pass, ended with a nice close BBS with no irritation at all.

The handle is not what I describe as "Sticky" in wet hands more like mildly tacky. But it was nice not to have to dry my hand at all. Just don't have lather on your shaving hand.

    SOTD Wednesday morning:

    Prep: hot shower
Razor: Gem Push Button model 41
    Blade: PAL
    Soap: Whoos Victory
Brush: Art of Shaving pure badger
Shave: 3 passes: WTG, XTG, ATG
Post: Cold water splash, Aqua Velva Ice Blue
    Pomade: Groom n Clean
    Cologne: Varvatos Vintage

First time using this razor and I'm very impressed. Just had a top 5 all time shave. Has very good balance and grip, and that PAL blade just blows away CVS blades. First time with the Whoos brand soap as well. You can find their stuff on Etsy. The Victory scent is amazing and manly smelling... The soap lathers very well and gives great cushion. It's a favourite now. Liberal splash of AV Ice Blue for that icy cool feel and I'm feeling great!

    Wednesday - Shave Stick Week

Erasmic bowl lathered with Merchant Rhoades Best Badger
    EJ89 with Dorco ST301
3 passes and finish with homemade bay rum

This was the 2nd time I've used the Erasmic and I'm unimpressed. I bowl lathered this time, and by the time I finished the shave the lather remaining in my lather bowl had virtually just disappeared. I don't know if I'll give it a third try or just trash it.

It's the first use for the Dorco ST301, but I'll have to try it with a better soap/cream to give it a fair test.

    A close shave

Prep: warm face wash with Shea Moisture African Black Soap, Maggard Cherry Sandalwood Pre Shave oil
    Soap: Tabac
    Brush: Parker synthetic
    Razor: Maggard m10
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock sharp edge yellow (4)
Post: cold water rinse, alum block
AS: Krampert's Finest Frostbite, Proraso Green Crema pre Barba

I got a BBS, but it's a little red and a weeper. Time to change the blade, maybe I should have changed it before the shave today. The Proraso makes the burn feel better, and it's not severe anyway. The pre shave oil made the experience warmer, but not in a bad way. I think I prefer the Proraso Crema, but I can see the allure of oil in winter months.

    Happy Wednesday!

Prep: Hot shower, Crown Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: Beeline Boar
Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Glycerin
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Lucky Tiger Menthol Vanishing ASB
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by ELdO

I was apparently feeling whimsical today. On a whim, I face-lathered for the first two passes this morning, before deciding I should probably bowl lather for the final ATG pass to ensure I had thick enough lather. On another whim, I went with what is typically just my Monday ASB in the Lucky Tiger Menthol. I can't argue results, though, as I wound up with a nearly BBS shave, no re-opening of the nick at my Adam's Apple, and no irritation. There was a tiny weeper by the side of my mouth after the ATG pass, but the witch hazel tightened it right up without needing any alum.

It's impossible for me to go more than one day without using menthol so I chose this set-up and I'm happy that I did. The Ice Mint cream provided such nice cooling with its great lather and scent, and the Visal gel froze my face off even more so. The Aqua Velva is not only freezing-cold, it's also very good if you have sensitive skin. I really enjoyed this shave. ;) :D

I replaced the Astra after only two shaves because I wanted to see how the Personna compares to a still sharp Astra. I really like the Personna. It shaved every bit as close as the Astra, but delivered a smoother shave. I really enjoyed today's shave.
