  1. Neolithium

    Neolithium I am Canadian, eh

Had the flu the last 2 days, so this was the first morning I've actually ventured out of bed to shave.
    Muhle R41
    Voskhod
    Semogue 1520
    MWF

Went with the lightest scented stuff altogether but at least the R41 gave me one pass that was good enough for me before crashing on the couch with more tea.

Another two day stubble removed, and still using the Gillette 7 o'clock black.
It was the fourth shave with this blade and it is still sharp and very smooth. Although slightly less than before, but that might be due to too much lather. I loaded the GFT Coconut cream like it was a soap again, and I got a lather that was a tad to thick.
But after only two WTG passes, I got a very good CCS. Except for the Mowember area.
This is growing nicely and is increasing my Gentlemanness, but the downside is that it is also increasing my lack of good lookingness. Could be worse, I guess :)

    Tools:
    Bulldog Face wash
    Merkur HD
Geo F. Trumpers - Coconut Cream
    Gillette black Se7en o'clock blade
    Merkur Futur Brush
    Proraso Green Aftershave lotion

I might put on some balm later on, but so far I do not need it

All in all a very nice Menthol Monday shave. Just love the lemony scent of the Lord Emofresh! And Vifrex always leaves my skin feeling great. This was the first time I tried a Lord blade and it seemed pretty good. Hope everyone has a good week.

    Cheers, Lyndon

Lyndon, as a rule I don't use the Lord Emofresh cream for my Menthol Monday Shave because I don't find it to be really cold enough. It's a lovely cream for sure, it smells beautiful, lathers and protects the skin great, but it is relatively weak in the cooling department compared to Ingram or Lea, or Gada Cool Mint, which was my cream today. I'm going with Mama Bear Awakenings soap for Menthol Monday - that soap feels like it could freeze you to frostbite! :happy102:

cheap.jpg I decided to go cheap tonight. I rvisited my first "straight", a magic razor that takes 1/2 a de blade.
I used a no name brand blade that I purchased when I got the magic razor.
    A $5.00 no name brush
    Arco shave soap.
Went very well. Got a close smooth shave with no cuts unlike when I first used this cheapo. My use of "real" straights has improved over the last couple months. Good to know I can get good results and not waste the $8.00 I spent on this razor. Maybe next time I break it out I will try some quality blades in it.

Thanks Jeff, I am eager to try some of the the more frosty soaps like QCS Vostok, TSD Iced Sub Zero and MB Awakenings. But I promised myself that I would use up some of my current stocks of soaps and creams first. But... of those three, which in your opinion is the frostiest?

Awakenings is in 3rd spot, although not at all far behind. In general, these three are the coldest artisan shaving soaps and creams on Planet Earth. There is something else which is made in Colombia - a cream called Denu which is EXTREMELY mentholated. I rarely use it because I cannot get it on a regular basis. If I ever get a spare tube, it'll belong to you! :)
