Does the Fitjar soap contain tallow? Her creams are nice as well. I have always wanted to try her tallow'd soap. I have tried her Veggie formula great soap but always wondered about the tallow version.

    Enjoy in good health!

    Best,

    Jesse

From what I can tell, she has moved away from tallow based soaps to veggie only. The one I used was the latter one
I believe she has a few tallow ones remaining on sale. I got two myself, but have not tried them yet.

    Thank you, I will :)

I have to get up super early tomorrow morning as I have an early flight. :transport015: I will be shaving tonight and this will be my setup. Haven't used the Musgo for a while and I do miss the old fashioned scent. Hope everyone has a great Halloween and a great Movember.

Sorry for not showing pictures this morning - this Razar cream which is from Tunisia, and also used in Algeria, Morocco, and Libya in barbershops in these countries is a great latherer, it has very good blade glide from the lanolin and glycerin, but I'll have to get used to the scent. It doesn't smell bad, but right now I'm not sure if I like it. The Hega aftershave does terrific things for sensitive skin. This shave was excellent. ;) :D

I guess everyone has a different idea about menthol. I was told by one guy that this Folgefonn stuff is about like a Proraso Green cooling sensation, and another guy said it's much colder, and a third guy said it's hardly even cooling. I myself would have to try it! :)

Thanks Jeff. The first day sucked. The first week was pretty miserable, but then it kept getting easier.

Give it a try. Even if you don't succeed, it is still a day or more without cigarettes.

    • Blade: Shark Super Stainless

    • Cream: Mystic Men Menthol
    • AS: English Leather
    • Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave
Many vendors are now selling this open comb design under different brand names at a very affordable price. In my opinion this head is more aggressive than most of open combs you can purchase. I find it to be better at stubble removal than the FaTip/Joris and without the harshness that you would find with 2011 Mühle R41.

Of all of the open combs this one is by far my favorite. Paired with a good blade nothing beats it, be it modern or vintage. The blades that work best for my face are Sharks, Astra SP's, Feathers, SuperMax Super Platinum's, and the Indian made Gillette Wilkinson's.

Have a happy Halloween everyone, try not to eat all of the candy and keep the children safe this night.

Happy Halloween guys! Todays shave was a success with the once untrustworthy Parker Shavette.....switched up to a different blade today and found it to be a perfect match so far. I have a box of 120 Shark half blades that I bought for my shavette and ALWAYS get tore up by those things. I rarely thought to snap other blades in half to try them in the shavette. But today I snapped a Derby (my daily blade of choice) in half and executed the smoothest and most (FIRST) bloodless shave iv ever had with the shavette! SUCCESS!! Man do I love Derbys!

    Razor- Parker Shavette
    Blade- Derby Extra
Soap- Arko (small piece mashed in my bowl)
Brush- No Name German made Boar
A/S Splash- Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
    ASB- Lea

    Thursday's shave:

    Musgo Real pre-shave oil
Sapone di Barba Naturale alla Mandorla shave soap
Mühle Travel shave brush in Nickel, with Silver Tip Fibre
    Merkur 11C open comb
    Feather FH-10 blade (4.)
    Bloc Osma alum
    Musgo Real Classic after shave

Flying back tomorrow, will not shave for the flight and am already planning the shave for Friday morning when I get home. I think I'll stick to this soft Italian shave soap but will be using the Semogue #1305, I can kind of imagine the lather explosion....
