I Had My 2nd Shave Today with My Soviet Made 5/8th..One WTG Pass on the Face & One ATG Pass on the Neck & a Dolphin Smooth BBS Result..Two Days of Whiskers Wiped Clean..My Picture above Represents a Typical Two Day Growth Pattern for Me..I have Cast Iron Whiskers & this Russian SR Swipes them Clean Like Butter..:D

This Russian SR has an Surgically Sharp Edge that is Quite Unique to this Very Hard Soviet Steel..It Feels Like a Very Thin Scalpel Like Edge & Feather Like Touch is all that is Required to Swipe the Whiskers Away with Long Strokes...A Top Notch Shaver for Sure..I Reckon I Might be Even Mistaken for a Bolshevik in that Photo..:happy097:

Gilette New long comb bar handle
    Ladas (2)

Today's shave was excellent. The ole #7 is still an excellent performer. Lather was very nice. The big suprise today ws yhe long comb bar handle. It wasnt ever one of my favorites. Thus relegated to occupy the shelf. Pulled into service for OCtober. Three passes excellent results. Even the handle felt more comfortable. Finished with blue spice. Out with the old, in with the blue. It smells more like my memory of old spice than most of my old spice on hand.
Hope y'all did as well, and find better performance in your lesser favorite razors.

Nice shave this morning. Went with two full passes which is a little more than my normal one pass and touch-up. I'm pretty darn smooth. The point of my chin and lower right of my neck aren't completely smooth, but I'll live with that. Those are trouble areas regardless. The Stirling soap lathered better with today's badger than the synthetic I used last week. I'm smooth and refreshed.

    Have a great Saturday!

Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel
    Pre shave - Proraso
    Razor – ‘The Rock’ (Rockwell 6S – #3)
    Blade – Gillette Silver Blue
Brush - 'The Duke' (Duke 3 Best)
Soap – Le Père Lucien Tallow
Post - Witch Hazel, Jojoba oil.

LPL Tallow is a lovely soap, so you'd think having it matched with 'The Rock/GSB combo it would be an outstanding shave... NOPE!! I cut my upper lip, and I have a rash around my 'trouble' spots...Yet again, LPL just doesn't agree with me, it simply lacks the protection that I require... But I can see it working for a lot of people, so if you get the chance, try and grab a sample...YOU may not be disappointed.

    Razor - Sheraton
    Brush - Parker badger
    Blade - personna blue (1)
    Soap - tabac
A/s - rite aid artic blue
    Balm - Pola ( it's a woman's face lotion )

First of all, I got BBS for the first time in a loooong time. It's not often and it's only been a handful of times that I've achieved this.
My technique has really improved over the months and more so, since I've been doing my personal weekly focus. The only issue with the shave was the tabac. I'm still struggling to get slickness out of this soap. My lathering technique has been improving as I am now getting slickness out of soaps that I couldn't before. I was by the 3rd pass satisfied with the tabac as the slickness starting coming out. No irritation, 2 small weepers from slightly over shaving, no razor burn and a slight tingle from the aftershave. An excellent shave!!
    Happy shaving gents!

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20161008_153452.jpg

    Prep: Occams crushed lime
    Razor:Gillette Redtip
    Blade: Ladas SS (3rd shave)
    Brush: Maggard 26mm synthetic
    Soap: Stirling Sandpiper
Post: Folsom & CO Black Powder/ MITA Balm

2 pass shave this morning. The scent of Sandpiper reminds me a lot of the dry down of Black Powder, and they paired beautifully together. Really like this complex scent of Sand Piper. Got a bit of irritation, but not much burn from the A/S which was good. Finished off with a dab of MITA balm, the scent has good longevity for a balm. I was looking for a more inexpensive alternative to T&H West Indian Limes, and this fits the bill nicly. Very soothing stuff. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
