Rodd...that is a razor I have never seen before. Is it current production or vintage? Very interesting looking.

I was going to use my platinum this morning...but with only 2 hours of sleep I decided to skip the shave. How does it compare to your new Astra??

MWF and oval bathroom sinks seem to be popular on TSD.

It is vintage, but I am not sure how vintage. This is the first one I have seen too, but Bill said he has seen a couple. More information can be found in this thread.
The shave is pretty similar. I had to shave with them 2 days consecutively to see what differences I could pick up. I am almost certain that the head geometry is identical. The shave is very similar. I did like the comb style guard on the Astra though, just because it let the lather through to the blade. I will have to post in that thread about the shave when I have a few minutes.

    Oh, and get some sleep!

Yes Luke, it was my first shave with it and that jar is very heavy. Come to think of it, the price was pretty heavy as well. Doug

Now, to ruin that sweet smell, rub some VICS Vapor Rub on your chest and pull the covers up. That will help you to feel better in the morning.

Johnny, I never tried the Floid Blue, so I cannot comment on it, but the Aqua Velva and Booster Polar Ice have absolutely NO similarity in the scent. I very much prefer the Booster Polar Ice for the scent and even for the skincare. There's menthol in the ingredient list, but to be honest I feel no cooling sensation. That doesn't bother me at all because it's a super-nice aftershave. It's too bad that my wife hates it! :happy102:

After a long day in my home office and insuring some relatives, I finally had time for another shower and my shave.

    And now, the batting order:

    Assorted Hot and Cold Soaks
    EBC Pre shave
    Vulfix 404 Brush
    Palmolive Lemon (India)
    Traveling Lord
    Lord Platinum (4)
    EBC Witch Hazel
    TSD Bourbon Vanilla Milk
    Old Spice AS
    EBC Almond Balm

    Bullpen
    EJ89

After a long steaming shower and piping hot towel, I got set up to shave. I had three delicious passes with the L6 but still felt like I needed more. So to the sound of Enter Sandman, the Mariano of my den, the EJ89 entered for a hybrid pass and touchups.

An ok shave was rendered a BBS in seconds; the Jagger with an aggressive blade like the Gillette 7 o'clock yellow or blue is a beard killer.

Tomorrow I am going to select a sharper blade for the Lord and I look forward to reporting my findings. Until then.

And to think I use to do it with a can of shave cream and a bottle of Mennen's. :)

I love the picture, now that's a real shave, no posing there.
Is that the bathroom key on the red stick? Classic.
Hope your set-up is working out well.
