A hot shower in hopes the arthritis would lossen, did not want to budge.
Parker Brush was on deck, I grated Arko SS in a mug.
I loaded a Gem 1912 for todays shave. Pre shave was Johnson baby oil on one half, the other half with an experimental developmental oil.
After shave was Clubman Pinaud Vanilla, Nivea after balm.
I am amazed how a razor made 1912 can still deliver a superior shave.

Man, I've had a few uncomfortable shaves in a row. Today was another. It's hard to admit but I think my skin may need a rest. This is a tough soap to crack. It's giving me Williams-style dry bubbly foam. I may try it one or two more times with hot water and then call it quits.

I used the Proraso Green today to compare it to the C.O. Bigelow cream that was used yesterday, and I now feel that while these two creams may not be identical twins, they certainly seem to be fraternal twins at the very least.

In my mind I think that the C.O. Bigelow cream packs more of a menthol punch than the Proraso, and that contributed to a more pleasurable shave for me yesterday.

    I'll call this 4 blades.

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/Rapira Stainless day 3
Palmolive Cool SC :love008 :love008 :anifrozen :anifrozen
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
Barbon AS :love008 :love008 :freezing :freezing
    Monsieur Givenchy EDT :love008 :love008

Ahhhhh, that Palmolive Cool cream has so much menthol, that you can feel it as soon as your brush makes contact with your face. It's absolutely identical to the Palmolive cream with menthol from Italy, except that it comes in a blue 65 gram tube. This shave was such a pleasure! ;) :D

    Boker Red Injun #102
    Omega Boar
    VDH Deluxe
    Witch Hazel/Corn Huskers Lotion
    Murray and Lanman's Rose Cologne

This razor is absolutely amazing, 10 shaves in and absolutely no need to re-hone. This was my first traditional straight razor and still ranks among the best in fact this is probably my desert island straight. Edge seems to last forever, very low maintenance just a quick stropping and a couple passes and consistent BBS. Really a fine razor.

Last Friday was not a real one; I had to work that weekend. Not this time.

    Palmolive Shave Stick
    VdH Boar Brush
    Schick Type A
    Pella Blade (3)

Using a shave stick is a bit like a magic trick. Where does all that lather come from? The Palmolive has more of a scent than I'd like, but nothing I can't deal with.
