Wonderful Saturday shave! 3 passes, BBS! The razor was great. The soap/Osage Rub made that nice menthol tightness and the Bay Rum was a nice finish (I still prefer Clubman Bay Rum to this stuff though)

    Razor: Merkur Long Handled Progress
    Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
    Brush: Vulfix VS/5 Boar
    Soap: P. 160 Tipo Duro
A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Proraso Balm

A fine shave with the now-discontinued P. 160 Tipo Duro. It lathered up OK with the boar brush, but I've had better lathering with a badger brush. I hadn't used a boar brush for some time, and forgot to soak it while I showered--that could be the reason, although it accomplished the job. The Proraso balm provided a very nice finish.

    Razor: iKon BullDog Open Comb
    Blade: Super Iridium
    Brush: Simfix Grosvenor
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: D.R. Harris Almond Shave Stick
    A/S: Taylor Mr. Taylor

I am amazed at the lather produced from the Harris shave sticks. Scraping the stick once across my face and then lathering up with the Grosvenor LE, I had enough rich and slick lather for 3 passes plus touch-up. I enjoyed a BBS shave followed by one of my favorite aftershaves, Mr. Taylor.

My friend, anything which says Sapone da Barba is a soap, although it is not a hard soap. ;)

    1952 Steel 'Black Tip' Super Speed/Rapira (Day3)

    Guerlain Habit Rouge EDT

Wow todays shave was even better than yesterday's...Day3 on the Rapira and it's showing no sign of wear. I might change out tomorrow just on principle, as Day 3 has always been the point of diminishing returns with most of the blades I use...But this Day3 is effortless with NO pulling or tugging...A true pleasure, "Is there a blade in this razor?" kind-of thing...but still a 1+ Pass Injector like close shave...:D

Aww Don't beat yourself up over it...It's only natural to use more pressure when using a razor lighter than whatever you've been using lately...And I consider those Rapiras to be pretty sharp as well...Congrats on scoring those Rapiras...I hope you get great shaves from them I know I've been loving them lately...:)) And although they are sharp I think they work really well in agressive razors too...Don't know why, guess they're that smooth...Let us know your take...

    Saturday:

    Razor: Merkur 38C Barber Pole
    Blade: Derby Extra (new)
    Brush: Omega Boar 10049
    Soap: Proraso (green tub)
    A/S: Pinaud Clubman
    EdT: Quorum Silver

Proraso is okay, but I always have half a dozen weepers when I use it.

And I like menthol less every time I experience it.

Otherwise, a fantastic, five-star shave, as usual.
