First time using the Duke in quite some time, it still remains the best brush I own regardless of the fact.

    First Injector Shave

    Sunday

    Prep: Hot shower
    Coffee: Home roasted Tanzania, BLACK
    Soap: TSD Brut Type
    Brush: Ever Ready 250PB
    Razor: Shick Injector "E"
Blade: ASR, day 1, 3+ passes (thanks again for the blades, Jeff!)
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Brut ASB, Brut Cologne, hand strop a DE blade & put in tomorrow's razor
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

    Shave Rating: 4 Blades

As the title says, this was my first shave with an injector. I can see why so many use one. Gave a fantastic shave. This would have been easily 5 blades if it had not been for the lather.

I used the Red Neck scuttle for the first time in a long time. The reason it has sat unused for so long is that the last time I used it the lather turned out a bit thin. Same thing today - too many bubbles making for a thinner lather than I really like. I was able to thicken it up a bit when I took it to the face and worked it a bit more, but I have to wonder - is this normal for scuttle users? Do all scuttles make the lather a little thin? Is it just the Red Neck scuttle? Or is it just me?

I hope its just the Red Neck scuttle. I did enjoy the warm lather. I have no doubt it will double the pleasure of a shave on a cold winter morning. I would like to get a nicer scuttle, but if they all do the same to the lather....

    Sunday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/new Rapira Stainless
    Proraso Aloe & Green Tea SS :love008 :love008 :love008 :love008
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Booster Polar Ice AS :love008 :love008 :love008 :love008

It's been quite a while since I shaved with my Proraso White bowl soap, and that's not nice of me--this stuff is so good in every way. The lather is a pleasure to create, and the scent is beautiful, and there's enough menthol in it to give a good cooling effect. The Booster Polar Ice aftershave has always been a top favorite of mine. ;) :D

    Sunday with Sheraton

    Gillette Sheraton
    Iridium Super (1)
    24 mm Finest Chubby
    Arko SS in a mug
    Alum
    Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood.

Open Comb October continues with the Sheraton today. Instead of trying for a 4th day out of the Iridium, I loaded a fresh one for a fantastic shave. Three passes and some touch up for as close to BBS as I can get. I only have another day or two left of the Ogallala sample, but I like how it leaves my skin and will order some more.

I'm only 4 shaves in on the Iridium blades, but they are quickly becoming a favorite. Sharp and smooth without the irritation I get from a Kai, feather, or 7 O'Clock Yellow.

    Definitely the best shave I've had in a while. 4.75 / 5

    Sunday's Shave

    Hot Shower
    Arko Shave-Stick
    Omega 10029 Baby-Pro Boar
1952 Steel 'Black Tip' Super Speed
    Astra SP (new)/Rapira (New)
Arko Cool AS Cream/Arko Cool AS Splash
    Guerlain Habit Rouge EDT

Started shaving the right side of my face with the Astra SP. After each stroke I'm thinking yesterday my Rapira was on its 3rd Day and each stroke removed much more hair...Was it my imagination or what? So I completed my WTG pass on the right side of my face with the Astra and then put a new Rapira in the same razor and did a WTG pass on the left side...I never shave one side and then the other, only did it today to make this comparison....WOW !! The Rapira side was nearly DFS after the 1st pass and the Astra side, was NO comparison...So then I did an ATG pass and touch-up all over with the Rapira and a Barber-Shop worthy BBS was acheived...I cleaned up around the sink, threw the Astra away, and tomorrow's shave will be all Rapira...:)) YMMV This test was certainly not scientific, and any number of variables could have affected the outcome, but it provided my morning's entertainment and I will be buying these Rapiras in bulk...:D

Yes, my friend, they Do !! And thats another thing I owe you...If you hadn't hipped me to the Rapiras, I probably would have never tried them...They are so inexpensive, who would think how great they are ?..:))

When I was using the Redneck Scuttle, the lather sometimes seemed a little thin, so I would try and make up for it with extra product. It could be because the insert bowl is porous and so extra water seeps into the lather...I do not have to use extra product in my RAB scuttle...

My pleasure! :D This morning when I shaved, I needed 3 good passes to get BBS. If I would have used another blade brand, let's say a Sharp, I would have had to do 4 passes, and then a touch-up or 2. With the Rapira, I suppose even 2 passes would have been enough, but I did the extra pass anyway, so I could enjoy the Proraso White bowl soap a little more! ;)

    Razor: EJ Chatsworth
    Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
    Brush: Grosvenor LE
    Soap: Palmolive Shave Stick
A/S: Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel, Realm Balm

Another fine shave, this time with the Palmolive shave stick. I'm not a huge shave stick fan, but I find myself increasingly warming up to them (certain ones, anyway) as I learn to use them. I had been limiting my shave stick use to travel only, but I am now trying to include a shave stick in my regular rotation. The Realm balm provided a very pleasant finish on this chilly morning.

Thanks. I was thinking along the same lines about the insert bowl being porous. Good to hear you don't have problems with your other scuttle.
