I just went for a one pass shave today. That was a much better option. I didn't get as close as I wanted to on my neck, but I can live with it because I didn't get any nicks, weepers, or irritation. This EverReady 1912 is a very effective razor. I love my SE'S, but they will never replace the Schick Krona as my favorite razor. And I had to treat myself to a Frozen Friday because I haven't had a fully mentholated shave in awhile.

Episode IV – A New Soap

I have a few soap samples that I have never used. Today's pick I got it from Barbiere di Figaro when I shopped my half kilo of Klar Kabinett a while back. I think it is supposed to be a good soap, but it has never tickled my fancy before. But today curiosity got the best of me.

This is a soft soap or a croap if you will, with more or less the same consistency as Cella and Vitos. The scent is perfumy and slightly overpowering. I don’t know if perfumy is an actual word, but I guess it is now :)
The soap lathered well and performed likewise.
I face lathered today, and did not make too much of an effort to get the best result, but I still managed to get a pretty decent shave.

My aftershave balm of choice is the older Proraso balm. And I really love this balm; it smells great and feels great. Unfortunately it has no staying power, if you know what I mean.
It soothes and moisturizes for the first five minutes, but if I have a less than a stellar shave, this balm will not help me. But I still love this balm..

    Face Soap: Fitjar Preshave Soap
    Razor: Merkur Futur
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (4)
Soap: Tcheon Fung Sing - Mistero
    Brush: Frank Shaving
    Aftershave Lotion: Witch Hazel
    Aftershave Balm: Proraso Aftershave Balm

Could not wait to shave today, but had to wait. My dog Harley got into something and I needed to take him to our vet. He fine after his shot and some meds, but will be in the cone of shame for a few days.
Razor: My just arrived Gillette Slim (k3) 1965
    Blade: Feather
    Brush: e-shave brush 22/55
    Cream: TOBS grapefruit
    Mug: Old Spice
Post: Thayers cucumber WH, Jack Black gel, TOBS Luxury AS
    image.jpg

Just got this Gillette Slim in the mail yesterday. Wow it's like new, no kidding, even the case doesn't have a scratch, on the bottom. The blades are period correct sealed with the Adjustable Direction

Ok I was excited. The shave was about what I get with my FB. The handle is a little thinner and longer but it did not change my technique. I still put my little finger on the tip of the razor, to help me with a light touch. The TOBS Grapefruit is great, what a scent, and the good lather you expect. The e-shave brush is good, but it is losing hair. I got it used off of the bay. I liked the handle. The Old Spice mug is from the last production run (Late Glass 04 1970s - 1992) I like everything Old Spice, it reminds me of my dad. I have been doing WTG XTG on my face on 6 and setting to 3 for my neck and now ATG on my upper lip. Works great DFS. The Thayers cucumber WH is great, than the Jack Black after I clean up everything. I got the TOBS Luxury AS as a birthday gift from my daughter, and I really like it. Great shave, and Harley is resting comfortably by my side.

B&M got the honor of saving the day. I really hope I'm not allergic to something in it because I love the smell and performance of it =(

    Made Rite Boar Brush
    Gillette Flare Tip, E3
    Wilkinson Sword Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH

The TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Made Rite Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette Flare Tip and Wilkinson Sword Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Nice slim! I just used mine for the first time today. I have been setting my Fat Boy on 6 for awhile and had just started setting it on 3 for my neck. What I found out with both razors, they have the same head, on three I started doing multiple passes on my neck and upper lip. It was just to easy and I found I would put more preasure on the razor an boy did I get a close shave. The burn was the cost so I'm going to change to only go down to a 4 And see what happens. Also I use a feather with a very light touch when it is set on 6. As always YMMV, but these adjustables are great.:eatdrink047:

How do you like the Williams soap? I found a local store here that sells it for $1.89 a puck. Figured I would buy a couple for myself and see if I like it. Then might add one to my growing "eventual PIF" collection.
