Thursday: Omega Wooden Handle 1950's Super Speed/new Rapira Nord Ost-SC :love008 :love008 :love008 :love008 Safari-AS Balm (from Ukraine, and excellent) Lubriderm unscented moisturizer Versace L'homme-EDT Today, it was a real Russian shave with a Rapira blade, which comes from Russia, as well as with a cream which is very, very popular in Russia. I find these blades quite mild, but very effective, and the Nord Ost cream gives fantastic lather with great skincare, and a nice menthol effect, especially during the 2nd pass. The Safari balm is from www.fitodoctor.ua, and it's very soothing.

It is one of the better shaves that I've had since I started with a straight. I don't know if it's due to improved technique, the cold water, or both. If anything, that cold water sure woke me up.

Shave of the Night Stropped for a long time. standard beard-prep "A. Witte" (New York (made in Germany)) 5/8th muted square-tip Proraso Cream (bought it in '08 so should use it with two siblings waiting..) home-made witch-hazel with Eucalyptus oil and menthol added One word to describe my SOTN: ohmygawd. Really fantastically close and smooth. Been using this str8 for over two weeks, I think. It just gets better and better. The extra stropping was part of it, but I tackled the most difficult part of my strongly angled beard first, which probably helped make it a faster, closer, more effective shave. Wowee my skin feels good and fresh. The home-made witch-hazel/after-shave is strong enough to surpass the Proraso somewhat, very rejuvenating aromatherapeutic shave.
