The same wonderful, off-the-charts-freezing shave as yesterday. That Glacial Lemon Chill soap is my official favourite now. The Glacial Obsidian balm and Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel felt like two menthol atom bombs with lots of soothing after I finished!

    Odin's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
    Lather: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss soap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (3, 4, 5)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's witch hazel, Aveeno Active Naturals AS balm
    Cologne: Montale Forest Aoudh

I will grant that the Bic is almost certainly always the sharper blade, compared to the Bolzano. The Bolzano earns its place in my den by being the smoothest blade I've tried. With great lather from the Simpsons/Ginger's Garden combo, I got three effortless passes for DFS+ results. I nearly went for an ATG pass as well, merely because my neck and under my chin didn't get quite as close as my cheeks, but decided to leave well enough alone.

This is one of the razors I've been using a lot lately along with a DD and a SHB OVB. Add some Oxford and Cambridge, de Ver Gulde Hand and Le savon des Volcans and we have everything covered for the last couple of months. As far as brushes go 2 badgers (Shavemac, Semogue) and this boar. Have a good one.

Nice shave, vintage Williams works very well indeed. And it just seemed right to use Clubman to finish.

After watching Chris @Bama Samurai use a La Toja shave stick for what seems like an eternity I decided I needed to dig the stick I had out, well I also found a Super Speed that I never used. I'm not a shave stick guy, well that just changed! This La Toja is wonderful! Slick. Easy to lather. Plenty of cushion. Super post shave. Great price. The Super Speed, it took me a full pass to get the correct cutting angle. I was rewarded with a DFS.

    WEDNESDAY
For today's shave, I used a vintage American-made razor from Union Cutlery, a fancier version of their line of SPIKE razor. I've found the Spikes take a very keen edge easily off the hones, and this one was no exception. Super-smooth 3-pass shave = a DFS! Only adjustment for me was getting reacquainted with using such a 'small' razor after a week of shaves with the HUGE Mastro Livi!
Have a happy Hump Day, all!

I’ve had a busy few days, and also a pretty busy evening. I had to shave, but had to do it quick and efficient.

When I have these situations, I figure a shave stick is the way to go, and one of my favourites are Sir Irisch Moos.
To be honest, I think it is more a favourite because it has been discontinued. It is a wonderful soap, with a nice scent and by using this I kind of understand why the Church of Tabac display such a religious fervor whenever this soap is discussed, but there are better soaps out there. There are always better soap out there :)

The Löccitane Plisson brush is still an ok brush. It is pleasantly soft, but I have not grown used to the lack of backbone yet. But as long as it does not fall into the floppy category, I am fine with it.

The Futur razor did a very good job in conjunction with the Indian Wilkinson Sword blade. It did bite me a few times, but as long as I deviate from the No Pressure rule I can only blame myself. It is a wonderful razor, even if I use one of the mildest settings.
At the end I will just mention that Witch Hazel is such a wonderful alternative as an aftershave. It does well everything an aftershave is supposed to do, except scent. I just put on some cologne or scented AS later on, if needed

    Razor: Merkur Futur
    Blade: Wilkinson Sword
    Brush: L’occitane
    Soap: Sir Irisch Moos
    Aftershave: Dickinson Witch Hazel

    Feather Popular DE razor
    Rapira Platinum Lux blade
    The Grooming Company synthetic brush
    TFS Barba Gialla soap
    HEMA Sensitive ASB
    Cella Eau de Lavande

Two passes with the Feather Popular gave me a comfortable DFS shave today. The Rapira Platinum Lux is an excellent blade in the Feather, just as it is in the Schick Krona. I love mild razors with sharp blades :)

9/16/2015 Single Edge September / Windsor Wednesday!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: GEM MicroMatic OC, AJ Jordan The Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor straight razor
Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE blade (1)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: DR Harris - Windsor
    After: Home made ASB,
    Cologne: Midnight In Paris

Welcome to Windsor Wednesday! The #6 brush did a great job whipping the Windsor into a very nice lather this morning. I had enough lather for at least 6 passes. The MMOC paired with the GEM blade gave really good feed back. The MMOC and the AJ Jordan did a nice job getting rid of the stubble. The Midnight In Paris was a nice finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!
