Being that I need to take "She Who Must be Obeyed" to Physical Therapy tomorrow morning I will shower and shave this evening before I go to bed tonight. I will continue to use my Wilkinson Sword Blade, that I put in the Above the Tie R-1 DE Razor. I got a BBS Shave this morning (Monday) so I will do everything the same. This shave will be the number 4 shave with this razor blade. If it seems to pull I will change the blade also tonight, but probably not change the blade tonight.

Hope that you all have a great day tomorrow.

    Menthol Monday

Woo Hoo. I finally opened up my puck of Stirling Glacial Spearmint.
    Smells great.
Very chill. I'd say 4.5 ice cubes out of 5.

My lather was kinda meh. But, that is my fault. Much to the chagrin of SWMBO I forgot to keep an eye on the softener salt and I let it run empty. So we have hard super hard well water for the last 4 or 5 days. I finally added salt on Sunday, but it takes a good 2 to 4 days to get it back up to par.

I will use it again when all is soft and give a better update. I am trying to remember, but I am pretty sure it was a clearance tester puck and I can't remember if Rod stated it lacked in anything. Maybe something with the lather. Oh well. It still gave a great shave and was super chill.

I finished off with the Stirling WHAS spearmint. Face freeze.

    Great day all.

    Tuesday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Gillette Super Adjustable (S5)
    Blade: ASCO (2)
    Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger
    Soap: ARKO
    AS: Yves Rocher Balm

It was a close comfy shave in one pass if I were not in hurry it could be better.

Tad, here's a suggestion for you. Leave that Spearmint puck out and uncovered for a month because these Glacial soaps need longer to cure than any other soaps. Once the soap has properly cured, you'll get much better lather from it. Even Rod suggests doing that. :)

    Terrific Tabacstag!
Another terrific Tabac shave today. I bloomed the soap with a little hot water, then loaded the HIS dry. The lather exploded on my face. My New LC made short, comfortable work of my stubble. This was the first time I used ATG pre shave soap, and I like it. I finished with B&M Kyovu Bay Rum and Tabac EdC.

Another terrific shave this morning although I have to admit that I definitely prefer the Rapira blades to the Sharps, because they're smoother and have better longevity. This Egyptian-made Lord cream smells very nice, has awesome lather, and gives terrific skincare with a mild but pleasant cooling sensation. The 444 balm and the Barbon aftershave greatly increased the chill for me. Another feature about the Lord cream is that just a small dab on both cheeks is all you need, because the lather is so concentrated. ;) :D

Easy 2 pass shave again today. Have been doing both passes north to south lately but for some reason did second pass south to north today. The resulting shave was not as good on my neck. Back to what has been working tomorrow.

I have been using the Maggard Limes & Bergamot in my rotation for 4 months now. It is one of my “Top 5”. Quick easy lather after loading for 20 seconds. GSB in the Slim. Another excellent smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Krampert’s Frostbite.

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Tech
    Blade: BIC (day 3)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Margaritas in the Arctic
    Passes: 3 (WTG, XTG, ATG)
    Post: Arko Ice Mint

Basically a repeat of yesterday's shave, but today I didn't sleep in so nothing was rushed. The lather was a little wet for my liking but still provided excellent protection and glide. As with yesterday, there was no menthol effect until the second pass. I didn't need the third pass, but I had more then enough lather, enough time and the feedback I was getting sounded like it wouldn't hurt. I kept it quick and light on the pressure and made it through without any irritation or a numb enough not to notice. I grabbed the Arko Ice Mint AS for today's finisher. It's not as intense as the 444, but still very nice.

    Tuesday:
hot shower w/Yardley English Lavender bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Gillette Slim (9) 3 passes
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless (3)
    Semogue Owners Club badger
Coate's Lavender cream in a warm bowl
    Thayers Lavender w/aloe
    GFT Lavender Water AS (sample)

    LOL - Lots of Lavender

Not a bad shave but the blade started to get hot on the third pass which kind of surprised me since it was only on it's third shave. I thought the lather may have been a contributor since the Coate's Lavender isn't their best performer but it seemed to be wet enough and cushiony enough to do the job. First squirt of the GFT sampler and I think I like it.

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
    Razor: Schick Injector Adjustable M2
    Blade: Personna (5)
    Lather: Proraso Red Cream
Brush: Parker handle w/ TGN Synthetic Knot
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: British Sterling

Today's shave might have been a little too close. It was definitely a BBS shave, but I'm a little tender now. Perhaps I should have dialed the Schick Adjustable back a little. Oh well, I'll just dial it back tomorrow. All in all, a very good shave.

    Have a great day!

    9/16/2014 Williams Week

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette 1903 OC, JR Torrey straight razor
Blade: Pol Silver Super Iridium (2)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Williams Mug Shaving Soap
After: Home made ASB, Grey Flannel after shave balm
    Cologne: Grey Flannel

I probably could have gotten away with not shaving this morning because of the close shave I got yesterday. I soaked the Williams puck while took a shower. I loaded up the brush heavy and went to face lathering. The lather was lacking this morning. It tried to do the disappearing act, but held on. I ended up with a Darn Fine Shave +. The Grey Flannel ASB left my face feeling moisturized and the Grey Flannel cologne will keep me smelling good all day.

    Have a blessed day!!
