What a smooth shave. I shouldn't be surprised since Proraso is a quality soap with shea butter - perhaps my favorite ingredient. My face feels great.

Lauterjung & Sons Puma 88 Special, 4/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

Vintage Puma straight razors have always been among my favorite ones from Solingen. They are always keen and deep, including this one that, despite it is just a 4/8, it is however capable of giving a good shave.

    Thursday:
hot shower w/Murray & Lanman Florida Water bar soap
    Somersets Tough Stubble PSO
    Gillette Slim (9) 2+ passes
    SuperMax Titanium (3)
    VDH Deluxe boar
Proraso Blue cream in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Arko Aqua AS gel

A very nice selection of products today with everything coming together for a great shower and shave. In fact, if time would have permitted, a third pass would have delivered a BBS result.

RSS Mahogany today. Very impressed with these new WSP soaps! Quick easy lather after loading the oscar11 for 20 seconds. Med Prep in the NEW. A smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Grey Flannel.

    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Stirling One
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)

I got a DFS+ from the Aristocrat And Bolzano today. The lather from the Stirling One was to wet, but it still has good protect and glide performance. Unfortunately the irritation hit in just as I was cleaning up.

For me the Aristocrat seems to be better suited for multiple days of growth. I haven't decided it I will base it's usage on that yet...

I wandered around and didn't wash my face or shower or anything and had a loaded brush in my right hand, so I just splashed some water on my face and lathered up. The shave was as smooth as any with extended prep/washing/oil, etc. Hmmm....anyhoo, two pass shave left my face smooth and presentable. Off to school and then cross country with my youngest after school.

Wow! This PC is 53 weeks old, I've had it for about 10 months, (has birthday on container). I haven't used it in about 5-6 months. 30 swirls later I had a pile of rich thick yogurt lather! Insane!
    Go out and get it![IMG]

    THURzDAY
I really like the feel of this Henckel blade,; just not crazy about the flat, cheap scales on it. Time for a rescale job! (added to the list!).
A very comfy 3-pass shave using the Institut Karite 'shea butter' products—really nice stuff, if you've never tried their product line.
A good start to what is anticipated to be a very busy day for me!
    Have a blessed Thursday, all!

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
Razor: EJ DE89 w/ Weber Classic Handle
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue (2)
    Lather: TOBS Jermyn St.
    Brush: Oscar11 w/ Omega 20248 Knot

    Aftershave: Vintage Shulton Old Spice

I absolutely love the scent of TOBS Jermyn St. shaving cream. It produced a bowl full of terrific lather this morning. The combination of TOBS, EJ DE89, and Personna blades never lets me down, and it didn't disappoint today either. Excellent shave.

    Have a great day!

    9/18/2014 Williams Week

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette SS W1, French Fau Frameback straight razor
Blade: Pol Silver Super Iridium (4)
    Brush: Col Conk pure badger
    Soap: Williams Mug Shaving Soap
After: Home made ASB, Speick after shave
Cologne: Bond No 9 - NY Oud

I soaked the Williams while taking a shower. I used a badger brush this morning to see if I could get some better lather. I ended up with enough lather for probably 10 passes. The lather was of much better quality today with no disappearing act. The Super Speed and the French straight did a good job in 2 passes. I ended up with a Darn Fine Shave. The NY Oud will keep me smelling good all day.

    Have a blessed day!!

    Prep: Gaia face scrub
    Oil: Shave Secret
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
    Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery
Razor: 1912 Everready (right side of face) Gem Damaskeene (left side of face)
    Blade: Gem high carbon blades
    soap: My French Soap Mix
    Post: alum sprayed on
    Witch Hazel: Generic unscented
    AS: Sampson's all natural

For some reason that is escaping me, I had a terrible shave this morning. I decided to see if there was any noticeable difference between the 1912 everready and the gem damaskeene, so I used both, one on the left and one on the right. Unfortunately, I must have done something wrong in my prep or my lather. Both sides of my face felt extremely rough, as if I didn't even have shaving cream on. I ended up with a barely acceptable shave with lots of whiskers showing and very rough to the touch. I've used the 1912 before with great success, so I am pretty sure it wasn't my technique. I used new blades in both. If I would have to make a judgement, I would say that the damaskeene shaved a touch better than the 1912, but both were not acceptable. Well, tomorrow is another day.

Great shave! The Proraso SC probably has the best cushion of any shave cream I use. (Tabac is very good as well)
The VDH Boar didn't lose any hairs again this morning; no stink, no shed,... no problem. The Draggon Noir is a personal favorite!
