    Llyr Stay frosty, my friends!

    Sunday:
    soak brush/Savile Row 3824
    warm shower
    Proraso PrePost cream
Speick shave stick and shave cream face lathered
Cobra Classic "The Snake"/Feather ProGuard (11)
    warm water rinse
    Monster Block Alum
    warm water rinse
    Thayer's Lavender WH
Speick splash followed a few minutes later with Speick Aftershave Balm
    Speick edt

I dont think I've ever gotten a bad shave from The Snake and it's only bitten me once or twice, todays shave was another smooth one.So far with this razor I've tried Kai Capt Mild and the Feather ProGuard. Both are working out great for me,that leaves the Feather Professionals.I got 15 face and headshaves from the Kai,it looks like the ProGuards still have a lot of life left in them,I was shooting for 13 with the Kai's and that's my goal with the ProGuards. The only thing about the ProGuards are they start out a lil rough, but smooth out nicely,I think they're a tad sharper than the Kai's.

First time using the Polsilver Blade so I am interested in it's performance. There are a number of blades that I have yet to try so I will be experimenting in the coming weeks. It's always fun to try new equipment. :D

My skin loves it, my wife and I love the scent - the price due to Euro conversion is the big kicker, it's EXPENSIVE once it gets here to Canada...

Hey Jeff....I had the same experience with that Razor/Blade combo. I am about to post my own SOTD, which included the Cadet OC loaded with a Shark SS. By far the best combo of blade to that razor yet. Both the feathers and SI's provide a very raw feel with that head, almost R41 raw. I am a strong believer that many razors are blade dependent and vice versa. Such as Astra's and Derby's performing outstanding for me in the R41, but being awful in almost every other razor.

Prep - Hot Towel, Simpson's Shave Cream
    Razor - Weber ARC
    Blade - Astra S/P
    Brush – Duke 3
    Soap - Mike's Unscented
Cold Rinse/ Witch Hazel/ Prof Blighty's English Oak Aftershave Splash

the S/P's are definitely more suited to the Weber..... a lovely shave!! :)

Shave of the Day (SOTD) Sunday September 23, 2012
    [IMG]
Prep: Brush soaking in warm water, face wash with Noxzema Triple Clean, tepid shower
Razor: Cadet Open Comb mounted to iKon Bulldog Handle
    Blade: Shark Super Stainless
    Brush: Semogue 820 Boar
    Cream: Lea Mentholated
    AS: Brut Orginial
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave

Today's shave may have been the best yet with the Cadet Open Comb. Although I have had very good and even great shaves with it, today's shave was as effortless and smooth as it gets.

I am a strong believer in that not all blades work in all razors and vice versa. That is why I will test numerous razor/blade combo's before discounting either one.

The Shark Super Stainless blades are one of my favorites in almost any razor, when paired with the Cadet OC, it really made it shine.

I have posted that the Polsilver SI's may be too much blade for this razor, and I was right. The last few shaves left my face feeling raw within an hour or so after the shave. I wanted to wait a few hours before posting today's results to make sure that afterwards I did not have that raw feeling. Sure enough, my face feels wonderful. No nicks, cuts, or weepers, not one bit of irritation. For this razor I think I have found my go to blade.

The Lea Mentholated cream provided that 20 below freeze that I love. I now just need to find an ice cold aftershave so that feeling will last all day.

Gillette Rocket HD with BIC chrome blade
EJ super badger brush medium size in ivory
    Ingrams shave cream
    SD Forest Fresh AS
    Astral cream
    Vintage Shulton Old Spice cologne

Not as good as the open comb yesterday but pretty good nonetheless although I'm not sure the BIC chrome is as good as the Personna reds- too early to tell perhaps. The Rocket is a grand razor but the open comb is calling and I've got a Made in England 7 O'Clock NEW style on the way and custom Made in Scotland stainless steel handle on order. The thread on OC razors has got me salivating wildly and I reckon I got a bad case of OC RAD coming on. BOTOC? I's a-coming!

    • Music: Mike Oldfield, Light and Shade

    • Post: hot water rinse, cold water rinse

Yesterday's blade was a bit sharper than today's (I've got three blades which I rotate). That resulted in a bit more tugging and a regular DFS (which is fine for me as well) :)
    Have a nice one!

Still in my quest to make the den ready for a move. KMF Cool Mint today so I could lock the pump. Nivea Arctic Freeze ASB. I'm still trying to kill this injector blade. I have a feeling it has a lot more shaves in it. I suppose that's alright I am a few weeks away and I'm just getting a jump to make everything smooth.

Third and final shave with the C&E for a while. I wanted to love it but I only liked it. I may get rid of it at some point but for now I'll just put it away to try again another day.

My Vulfix 660S is starting to shed. This is a replacement for another 660S that started shedding on me. I'm not really happy about this.

Yeah, it's something special. It intrigued me as well, so when I stumbled upon this travel set I didn't hesitate! I really enjoy shaving with it, but the children are not fond of the noise it makes when honing or stropping the blade. But I save the Rolls for the weekends, so I've got the time to savour it! :)

    Hi Arley
Yeah, I figured that the Feather might be a tad too much of a blade for the Cadet. Derby was on top of my list of potential blades after last weekend's experience and I have also ordered a few other ones to try out in the Cadet (Personna's, Gillette Blacks and such...) Usually I limit myself to Feather and try to identify which razors go with it as I really like that blade. But, hey, a bit of playing around is all the fun, isn't it ;-)

Nothing wrong with working a razor around your favorite blades. Feathers rate very high on my list, pretty much a dead tie between them and Perma-Sharps with Polsilvers SI's and Sharks rounding out the top four.

It really is the fun part of finding that perfect razor/blade combo that work best for our faces.
