The TSD cream has the same scent as the soap and gives the same great lather & shave! DFS++ :)

    Enjoy!

    Good morning.

My shave on Wednesday, a rather early and sleepy one (04:45 a.m.):

    Musgo Real pre-shave oil
    Calani Purissima shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre
    Merkur 12C open comb
BIC Chrome Platinum blade (day 3)
    Bloc Osma Alum
    Musgo Real Classic after shave

Basically same set-up as yesterday, minus the MdC face wash. I have also retired the BIC blade, will be loading something fresh for tomorrow (maybe a Gillette Platinum?)

This week's set up is the usual hardware + TSD Wheat Cream in Kitchen Herbs scent. Yummy.

    Today's shave
Started with a Turkish Horse hair Brush # 8 ?, I believe it's a 28mm in plastic handle. Gently swirled around a puck of MWF and brushed on my face and head for my pre-shave. As the foamy alkaline soap hydrated my beard and noggin, I continued to work the brush on the puck. Loaded the brush, added a small squirt of glycerin to the bowl and a dollop of TSD wheat in Sandalwood. And Bam UBER lather was formed. My hardware consisted of a W&B wedge that I acquired from the Judge Henry Lummus collection used on my face. A razor of historic value owned by little old me.(newb) And BTW honed by me, yielded a DFS only two passes and I was satisfied. On the noggin I used a a shick Quattro,, a most excellent cartridge. The noggin is BBS, but it always is with the Quattro. I finished up with a simple splash of Master's Bay Rum and a dab of head lube to make the noggin shine. All in all a great shave combining old with new, expensive with cheap. But with an end result that is priceless.
    Have Great shaves , Gentlemen.

    • Prep pre-shave cream
    • Tabac shave cream
    • Shave Nation Geo shave bowl
    • FS Richmond (28mm) - Silvertip Badger - Ivory color, large knot.
    • D.R. Harris razor
    • Gillette "The Spoiler" blade (3rd shave)
    • Nivea AS balm
    • Geo F. Trumper Spanish Leather after shave
Today I brought out the big guy... the 28mm FS silvertip. This brush made a great lather but had to be convinced to give it up (bit of a lather hog). Very comfy three pass shave. I can't believe how smooth those Gillette blades are! Love that Tabac! The Nivea AS balm was good too. I like the GFT Spanish Leather as it has a very nice, dry, powdery finish.

    Cheers, Lyndon

Man, did I ever freeze my face off today with the Palmolive Menthol cream, and the 444 and Osage Rub made the shave such a wonderful pleasure at the end. The Sharp blade is still holding up very well, so let's hope it could last for 3 more days. ;) :D

Very nice shave this morning, smooth and close. I dropped the loft on the Thater 9mm from the original factory setting, from 54 to 45mm. It's a very nice soft, dense brush with good backbone for face lathering, IMO, much improved but remember it's just my opinion. A week ago I had surgery, so I've been off work but have been doing overtime on ebay. I've picked up 4 more straight razors, all will need restoration work, but there is always the hope you might pick up a pearl. They should start arriving today. Have a good one.

Closest shave I have EVER had to date! This razor is not pretty but oh my what a shave! Love the Bigelow, the Astra, the Thayers! Not sure about the Lucky Tiger yet. It is a little strange feeling (somewhat greasy at first) but it absorbs after a bit and it has a nice long lasting cooling effect. Can't stop touching my face!!:)

Welp I can't say it was a smooth shave but it sure was a close 2 pass face,1 pass head shave,BBS all around.I shed a lil blood for the cause, I got matching nicks on both ears from the tabs.I looked at the alum for a long time before rubbing it on.I was expecting major alum burn, but was pleasantly surprised,no burn or sting.I'm not sold on the Supermax for this razor so far Astra SP and Derby do the best for me.I'm not a fan of Derby's but in the r41 it seemed to be a good match.
