    Thursday!!

Thought I better get on board with the badger brush week before it's ... over ...

Pre (Eucerin Moisturizing cream, warm shower)
    Simpson Milk Churn
    MWF
    Merkur 23c w/ Kai Stainless
Post (Cetaphil Gentle cleanser, cold water rinse)
    Master Bay Rum

Two pass DFS (solid). I usually don't like to face lather with my Milk Churn, but did so anyway. Fine for two passes, but doesn't hold or release the same volume of lather as my Omega Pro boar. Nice brush nonetheless.

The transition has officially occurred ... Kai Stainless is my go-to blade :kar:. I haven't used anything else for a couple of weeks and there's no desire right now to use anything else on a regular basis. My beloved Astra SP and Gillette Super Thins (Thai) are on the reserve/"one off" list for now. I've found the Kai to be sharper than Astra on my beard and smoother as well (caveat: after the first pass). YMMV of course. Next time in Japan, I'll need to see if I can find Kai blades for a reasonable price.

    20 September 2012, Thursday.

This morning was not rushed, took a long hot shower.
After a great shower I prepped with Prairie Creations pre-shave soap.
Brush choice today was the Semogue 1460, produced great lather from Vitos Super Extra.
Today was day four for the super duo of "Fat Boy" & 7 o'clock Blue. Crank up the dial to seven for two passes, the last dialed down to four.
After a superior shave, cold water splash, alum, Pinaud Tres Flowers.
The "Fat Boy" is quickly becoming my favorite razor in my den. Day in and day out the shaves are outstanding. Today's DFS was no exception to the superiority of the shave.
It is my hope everyone's week has been outstanding.

    Good morning.

My Friday shave ritual on the first day of the Singapore Grand Prix race weekend:

Martin de Candre 'Savon Vetyver' face wash
    Musgo Real pre-shave oil
    Calani Cadre Noir shave soap
Mühle Basic #02 shave brush, Silver Tip Fibre
    Cadet TP-26 open comb (*Premiere*)
Feather FH-10 stainless steel blade (1.)
    Bloc Osma alum
    Musgo Real Classic after shave

Today was my first shave with the much anticipated Cadet OC and, on first impression, it did not disappoint. It is a tad longer than the Merkur 12C, has a different weight distribution and has more bite. This first shave was a good shave, i'll see how it will perform the next 7 days in order to get a more definite opinion.

Off to work now, it's F1 race weekend here in town and i am crazy busy. Have a good one, all of you.

Friday morning and I have a day off! :happy093:

    sotd-sep-21.jpg

    • TSD pre-shave balm
    • D.R. Harris Marlborough soap
    • FS Chubby (26mm) - Finest Badger - Horn color, large knot
    • Edwind Jagger DE89L
    • PolSilver Super Iridium blade (1st shave)
    • TSD Witch Hazel, Iced Winter Fresh
    • Baxter of California AS balm
    • Brut AS lotion
Good shave today. The FS Chubby has plenty of backbone and had no trouble whipping up a nice later. I just had to convince the lil' chubster to share it with me. Pushing the brush down into a bowl helped to release some of the lather. This may improve with use I guess. The Super Iridium blade is very nice. I thought it could be a bit sharper but it was very smooth on the 2nd and 3rd passes. The TSD Witch Hazel is my favorite by far. I love the Winter Fresh scent and the menthol (level 1). Brut aftershave... great for those days when you want to smell like a man, dang it!!

    Cheers, Lyndon

Face Wash: Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash
Pre-Shave Lather: Kiss My Face - Lavender SC
    Pre-Shave Oil: T&H Ultimate Comfort Pre-Shave Oil
Shave Lather: Crabtree & Evelyn - Sienna SS
    Razor: Merkur 38M
    Blade: Laser Super Platinum (1)
    Brush: Semogue 1305
Post: Witch Hazel/Rum/Aloe/Glycern mixture followed by Nivea Arctic Freeze ASB

I'm pretty convinced that the Laser SP is not my blade, but I'll try it in my black beauty tomorrow and the next night to make sure.

My first time using C&E Sienna, even though I buoght it back in late January. I got some great lather but it gave me a little tingling, much like TOBS Sandalwood. I may have to get rid of this if it continues for the next few shaves.

    Shower: River Bend Soap
    Prep: Hot towel
    Razor: Parker22r
    Blade: Astra SP
    Soap: DMN

Nice 2 pass DFS! Loving the new bowl. It really holds the heat in. Lately, when I have time I have been warming water in a tea kettle, soaking my prep towel and bowl in it. The bowl stays nice and warm.

    Friday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/Sharp day 5
Ingram SC :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    444 AS Balsam :love055: :love055::Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Osage Rub AS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EDT

The Egyptian version of Ingram smells exactly like the British version, but lathers better and doesn't become watery. It also has more menthol, believe it or not! After such a nice shave, the 444 and Osage Rub gave me lots of additional freezing. Sorry for not showing pictures today. ;) :D

    30mm homemade brush

I woke up this morning and I swear I could smell AoS Sandalwood in the air. This is one of the razors I picked up on ebay this week for less than $20. I spent a few hours on it yesterday and then sharpened it up last night before bed. It certainly hasn't seen much use. Great shaving razor, very smooth and comfortable shave this morning. I have 2 German and one UK razors coming yet. I'll have a couple of sets of scales to make for sure and the other blade is a little dicey, so we'll see how things turn out. Have a good one.

    Friday:
soak brush/Omega Mixed Midget/DB Brush Scuttle
    hot shower
    Proraso PrePost cream
    Arko shave stick
    Muhle R41 Grande "Fang"/Supermax Super Platinum (2)
    warm water rinse
    Monster Block Alum
    warm water rinse
    Thayer's Original WH
Lucido splash followed 20 minutes later with TSD Sensitive Aftershave Milk :love029: :love029:

Skipped my usual headshave today and just did a nice 2 pass shave,BBS."Fang" did not shed any blood today and was pretty smooth for a r41.What a difference the Supermax performed great,I guess all blades start out rough in the R41 then mellow out after the first shave.I wont say it was the smoothest shave I've ever had,but it was pretty darn smooth for a R41.
