Saturday! Can I get a "Heck Yeah"?!?

    Hot Shower
    Green Marvy Mug
    The MadHatter Silver tip
    Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorn Soap
Lady Gillette Stars - Dark Blue
    Super Max Super Platinum (2)

Haven't shaved with a Lady in quite awhile due to my love affair with the Lord L6. I thought I would share the love today and she did not disappoint.

Alright Folks, it's the weekend! Enjoy every minute of it!! :happy093:

Saturday - it's the weekend! :happy069: Time for the SEs!!

Prep: 45 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hone & strop str8, hot shower
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenya Safari Ridge, BLACK
    Hone: Duro
    Strop: VB 2" Black latigo/linen
Soap: TSD SOTQ B3 - Cantaloupe
Brush: 24mm Silvertip set in red mallee burl
Str8: J. R. Torrey originally honed by Glen, 3 passes
Razor: Schick Injector E model, touch up
Post: Cold water rinse, RazoRock rub down, ice water splash, Curve

    Shave Rating: 5 Blades

Now THAT'S the kind of lather I'm looking for. TSD soaps always give me a rich, thick, slick, comfortable lather, regardless of what brush I use. Never hit or miss (with me, anyway) as with some soaps - MWF and Williams are too finicky, in my opinion.

In the spirit of Williams week, I will finish out and use Williams tomorrow. Using my str8 demanded that I get a great lather - just couldn't be guaranteed I would have that with the Williams. I'll keep the Williams in the rotation and use it up, but not too sure about buying another puck when that one's gone.

I needed a change from Williams this morning and pulled out a sample of KK that Jeff graciously sent me. While not normally a veggie soap nor a floral fan, this soap kicks butt. It has plenty of cushion and enough glide for a pleasurable shave. I enjoyed it enough that I actually added a third pass to my normal shave. The skin feels great. Everything else performed as expected resulting in a great Saturday morning shave.

Been under the weather all week and never got out for Williams. The DE89 +Personna Platinum did the job on three days growth, so missing one shave set me up nicely.
Three passes plus touch ups, and the sink was full of hair, and old technology won out again!!! I gave away my carts Mach 3 and Fusions and am flying solo. Thanx for all of your help.

And it's nice having my grandfather looking down at me from the mirror as I shave

Hot towel start (see above), cold towel rinse
    JM Fraser's Polar Ice
Aqua Velva Original + Caswell Massey Talc Applied together-I love this combo!
What a shave!!! I am quite fond of the DE and will continue with your help to strive and improve my technique.

I didn't take it past the DFS stage today. It's just a hair away from a BBS, but I was just lazy today I guess and didn't do the tiny bit of blade buffing that would have taken it to BBS.

    Razor: Wilkinson Sticky
    Blade: Personna 74 (5)
Brush: Rudy Vey Beehive with D01 knot
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Cream: German Nivea
    A/S: Acqua di Parma

The Wilkinson Sticky and Personna 74 continue to impress. I am also very impressed with the German Nivea shave cream. While the scent is not my absolute favorite, the performance and skin conditioning properties are outstanding. I followed the shave with a splash of one of my favorite aftershaves, Acqua di Parma. Very nice indeed!

A good shave from a ratty looking razor. She's not a looker but this old French girl can take an edge and still deliver. A very fine Weekend shave.
    Have a great day, Gentlemen.

    Saturday:

    Cranford 5/8
    TGN Silvertip Badger
    Williams Mug Soap
    Brut AS Balm

I think I'm going to have to skip Williams Sunday - it just doesn't provide enough protection given my novice skill with the straight razor. I managed another decently close shave with no blood but my face with fairly red and broken out, and even the alcohol free Brut AS Balm stings like a mother. The lather whipped up easily enough again though, I find no real difference in using the boar or the badger, save that in comparison the badger is massive and takes up half my face. Makes it more difficult to really dig in and get a good face lather. Forewent the cleanup, even though there are a couple spots that could use. I'm hoping a more protective cream will make for a smoother shave tomorrow. Williams Out.

    Happy Saturday From Florida!

    Hot Shower
    RAB Scuttle
    Omega Boar
    QCS Celestial Woods Croap
    Muhle R-41
    Voskhod (3)
    Cold Water Rag
    Eveline Aloe ASG
    A&F Fierce Edt

3 Passes = DFS+! I missed a spot on the lower right side jaw keeping this from being BBS. I also have noticed Aaron's revelation that while the R-41 is a right fine shaver, it does reduce the life of a blade. I will take that trade off though!

Off to post our major shave stuff haul now.

    Have a great weekend Ya'll!

Ok, I've screwed up this week and haven't been posting my shaves, I'm not a big hairy ogre at this point, I have been shaving.

There has been a Williams shave in there somewhere, my puck of Williams is down to a tiny ring left in the bottom of my mug, so most of the skeeter-be-gone scent is gone. It was a good shave, and I think I finished it off with Aqua VelvaPinaud Clubman IIRC. :think002:

Where did all my Williams go you might ask? I use it to defunk new brushes, and while I do not care for the Williams scent, I find it more agreeable than the south end of a north bound animal funk that some brushes have.

Love the new scent by JoAnna :love055:, and as always the 2X Iced Menthol is a treat! :Animatedfrozensmily:

I only went with 4 blades since it has been sooo long since I've used an S/E of any type, that I found my technique is slightly off, and I have a touch off irritation on my right lower neck.

    SATURDAY

YAY! Last day of the CMA exam prep class!!

    Razor - '58 Superspeed
    Blade - Vokshod
    Brush - Penworks
    Soap - TGQ Blackberry Sage
AS - Clinique Post Shave Soother

Tried the Vokshod in my superspeed today. It worked better than the red tip...but not as good as my Muhle. Tomorrow will be my last shave with this blade so I will try it in my Schick razor! The good thing about these blades is that I will get 4 shaves easy from the blades!! :D

Saturday! Got my TSD order in. I retired the Williams Mug Soap since I wanted to try new soaps.

    TSD Pre-shave Balm
    Lord L6 Razor
Treet Durasharp, switch mid shave to Astra Superior platinum.
    Eterna Pure Bristle Brush
    TSD Pumpkin Delight Shave Soap
    TSD Alum Block
    Generic Witch Hazel
    Chaps Aftershave Splash, Ralph Lauren

Great shave today for the most part.
The TSD Preshave balm was nice, liked the fragrance, put it on in the shower and let it sit there for a while.

I didn't dry the Treet blade properly on my last shave, so it felt ugly and I switched to the Astra before it did too much damage.

The TSD pumpkin delight is AWESOME though I'd be careful using it if I were hungry. It smells delicious. Very warm fragrance.

This was my first try with the Alum block, I rubbed it on my wet face and it felt really nice. I used the witch hazel afterwards because I saw I had a very tiny nick.

I finished with the Chaps aftershave, and now my face feels really good. Very happy :happy093:
