Wednesday Schick type D injector Pella blade (1) Musgo cream Penworks silvertip A good close shave, but it's obvious that I'll need to work on the specific technique for this razor a little. Got a couple of small weepers.

The Kabinett soap has a wonderful lather, and it has the only rosey scent that I like. The Booster Mosswood is one of my favorite aftershaves.

Wednesday, September 22, 2010 Razor: Merkur Long Handled Progress Blade: Astra Superior Platinum Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L Soap: D.R. Harris Arlington A/S: Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel, Pashana Splash Another close and smooth shave this morning. The Harris Arlington is a classic that has earned its excellent reputation. I must remember to go easy with the Pashana, however--it has a rather intense and persistent scent. Used lightly, it is quite pleasant but I think I overdid it a bit this morning.

Mid-week nice hot shower using Irish Spring body wash. While I showered my Parker brush was warming on deck. I placed some Erasmic shave soap into my mug and set in a the sink with water. After the shower I prepped my face with Johnson baby oil, The Parker whipped up a great mound of lather. I lathered my face, the lather was warm, felt great. I shaved with a 1912 Gem, the shave was exceptionally BBS. I followed it with a splash of Aqua Vela Blue Classic. Then after it dried I applied Nivea after balm. The 1912 Gem gives impressive shaves, no razor burn or irritation.

Wednesday's Shave Hot Shower Arko SS/Arko Moist SC Omega 10029 1952 steel 'Black Tip' SS/Rapira (Day1) Arko-Nem Soft Lotion Moisturizer/Arko Aqua AS Splash Guerlain Habit Rouge EDT WOW !! Jeff was singing the praises of these Rapira blades, so I just had to try them... THEY ARE SHARP...These guys must be one of the best kept secrets in blades...Very inexpensive and very sharp...It's gonna take me a minute to get used to a "Sharp" blade again, I've been using Derbys (and getting great shaves), but these guys are much sharper I believe...There were times during this first shave when the old "Hot Knife Through Butter" quote kept popping up in my mind...Tomorrow I'm anxious to try them in my Slim, as thats the razor I normally use to get a handle on a new blade. With my Super Speed/Derby combination I'm so used to flying around my face with reckless abandon, but these blades are a mite too sharp for that kind of driving. But my bottom lip and chin are perfect...My neck is so BBS...I only picked up a few weepers in the moustace area, while blade buffing...But my 1st impressions are certainly positive...I believe these might be sharper than the Astras I've been using aswell, and at about half the cost... Can't wait til tomorrow, to try and tame these Mustangs a bit...
