    Friday's Shave

    Hot Shower
    Arko Shave Stick
    Omega 10029 Baby-Pro Boar
    !965 Gillette Adjustable, @7/Rapira (Day1)
Arko-Nem Soft Lotion, Moisturizer/Arko Aqua AS Splash
    Guerlain Habit Rouge EDT

GREAT SHAVE- Seems I've gotten used to using a sharp blade again...I must paraphrase Jeff by saying, The more I use these Rapiras, the more I like them". Sharp enough so when using only the weight of the razor, you get good clean strokes...And mild enough so there are no weepers or irritation...

I took pictures early, so I wouldn't be trying to rush this afternoon before work :happy102

    • Razor: Gillette Red Tip
    • Blade: Wally Wilkinson
    • Brush: Omega Beechwood Boar
    • Soap: Valobra Stick
    • After Shave: Clubman Bay Rum
    • Cologne: Bigelow Elixir Red

Anthony "dashmaverick" inspired me by mixing Aqua Velva Blue and Elixir Blue, so I figured why not mix Clubman Bay Rum and Elixir Red....

The Bay Rum and Elixir Red make a smashing combo, I used this with yesterday's shave and was rewarded with tons of island goodness.

    Razor: Merkur Futur
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow
    Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L
    Soap: P.160 Tipo Morbido
A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Proraso Splash

This was my first use of the Tipo Morbido. Since it has been discontinued, I had to try it--I definitely don't want to be stuck shaving with Dial bath soap if the coming shaveocolypse wipes out the traditional soaps and creams, along with blades! Is the rumor that P.160 was bought out by Proctor & Gamble really true? :D Well, anyway, the shave was excellent--smooth, comfortable, refreshing, and BBS. I had plenty of creamy lather and the scent was nice, but light, when shaving. I had not used a Gillette 7 O'C Yellow for some time. It is a fine blade, possibly slightly smoother than an Astra, another favorite of mine. For the same money as the Gillettes, I can get Iridium Supers, which are smoother yet and last much longer for me. A splash of Proraso was an excellent finish.

    Friday

    Razor: Merkur Alu (Big Grip)
    Blade: Astra (1)
    Brush: Altesse Badger
    Cream: SCS Juniper Mist
    A/S: AV Ice Dive

Just wanted to record my first shave with a Merkur Alu. It's a nice razor! I have some carpal tunnel problems and some arthritis and the fatter, heavier handle was easier on my hands than my other razors (especially since my right hand was bothering me today). Shave was comparable to my HD, but a little closer because the razor is fairly hefty. Still not as nice as my Futur, but definitely a keeper.
