    gorgo2 geezerhood

A few months' worth of beard had to go, Wahl'd off neck and cheeks. Red Tip w/vintage ASR stainless blade and some old Palmolive tube cream cleaned up the stubble. Now I'm back to the goat...had gotten used to how the beard felt but clean shaven, even partly, does feel good.

    Palmolive Shave Stick
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel

Been a while since I used this razor. Popped in a fresh Treet blade and went with two passes for a really good DFS.

    Cold Water Wash
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
    B-400 by Tom
    Superior Lather Catcher
    Original Gem Cutlery SE
    CWR
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face lathered well with the B-400 Brush by Tom. I did two passes with the Superior Lather Catcher Razor with an Original Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Saturday Shave. Given the soon to be Fall season, it's an apple theme today.

Today's shave was with an American Made Razor. I had a very smooth, 2 pass shave, with little touch-ups, that left me BDBS. Great shaving razor, and I like the shape, a lot. I think it's a French point.

    Razor- A.B.Shipley & Son. Philadelphia.
Brush- The Art Of Shaving, Pure Badger. (Floppy and Scritchy). Not worth the money.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
    Aftershave- Avons "Bay Rum".

Have you tried the Stirling splash? Is it closer than the current "original"?

    SUNDAY'S SHAVE

    [IMG] - Aftershave only

Shampoo - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum Puck
Bath Soap - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum Bar
    [IMG]
Razor - Antique Gillette 1907 Old-Type (fully restored and re-plated in gold by Razor Emporium)
    Blade - [IMG] *12th Shave!!!!
Shave Brush - 20mm GBS Synthetic 3rd generation
Shave Soap - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum
Post-Shave Balm - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum
Deodorant - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum
Fragrance/Aftershave - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum in Stoneware Jug

***EDIT - Unbelievable 10 out of 10 shave this morning! With the blade on the 12th shave! I can't believe this blade is lasting so long and still shaving so good. The one different thing I've done with this blade that I haven't done before is that I've taken the razor apart to clean after every single shave and allowed the blade and razor to dry fully then carefully re-centering the blade (I believe I've gotten good at the blade centering). I have tried this before a while ago but with different blades, not the Wilkinson Sword. I bought a huge multi-pack of Wilkinson Sword blades. They are simply the best shave for me in this razor. I know people try to say that blades are all the same, but call it placebo, call it whatever you want, but this blades in this razor gives me the best results and lasts for the longest number of shaves. I won't put another blade in this razor from now on.
