My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Colgate Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #30RS Brush. I did two passes with the TNNSER 3D razor with a CVS CS SE Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

But we need to know HOW MUCH water did Mr. Cawtuh administer to the Xecutive Man? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy blooming(well, that's a gimme-I'm the VEEP), but don't like overdoing it. NIIIIAAAAAGGGRAAA FALLS....SLOWLY WE TURNED, STEP BY STEP.

At the risk of repeating an earlier post practically word for word, what attracts me to MWF are 2 things...the year of orgin(1893) and that the lanolin is natural.

    Solo Menthol SC
    Prep ASB
    YSL Pour Homme EdT

I found this Hungarian made Solo Menthol cream here in the house last night when I was doing a little repair job in the basement and I remembered that I had it a few years ago when my wife and I were in Prague, Czech Republic. This cream is very cheap and its scent is very mild - in fact it’s so mild that it’s almost unscented, it’s a FANTASTIC latherer, and the menthol sensation is scanty. It’s not a very skin friendly cream so I had to use quite a bit of the Prep balm afterwards to get rid of the dryness and irritation when I was finished. I think this Shark blade is soon going to crap out - tomorrow is the last day for it. Two passes gave me a great BBS shave, but I had to struggle for it.

    Enjoy the weekend, fellows!

I like it that you are happy to leave the patina on the razor. I have some respect for that. I have a tendency to polish anything that either does or doesn't move lol. :ashamed001:
I think it says something wholesome about you.

    MWF~~Simpson CH2 SiLVERTiP~~Ralf Aust~~Cigar Aficionado AS
Today's SE was the fresh-off-the-stones Ralf Aust. Granted, I only used my Naniwa 12K and my Shapton 16K,
but, in combination with my newly-discovered, flatter angle, made a huge difference.
I remember reading multiple times that the desired angle with a straight is about 3x the width of the blade.
Well, in retrospect, that is still a relatively flattish angle. I was probably using a 30˚ angle since starting.
    Mega feedback...mega scraping.
This new approach has significantly improved the chin/jaw areas.
Hard soap...one of the hardest, MWF. Badger brush...one of my favorites.
Together they combined for a luscious lather; supreme slickness and perfect post-shave.
    Quit after two passes. DFS+++
    The CA aftershave is a mostly-alcohol, B scent and a D- container.
Product runs down the sides, gets trapped in the grooved bottle and is a mos def©
    NO Repurchase. :rolleyes005:
There are much better tobacco aftershaves available.
Good thing this bottle was cheap. Still is, BTW.

I couldn't decide which sort of Friday to have, so I plumped for a Fatfeatherweight (is this a new oxymoron?) Friday.

    Stirling SE September

Went to the Island today maan.

The Blue Ming insisted on going as well. I coulda whipped up a great lather without him, but.. he is my friend.

Stirling Tuxedo.... Great brush, great value.

Focus Dynamic R48 1/2 DE Single Edge Razor. Close, easy, comfortable. Chased the baby... easy peasy catch.

Stirling Island Man AS, little spritz of the EdT too.

    Great shave, great smell.

Since my last post I snuck in another road shave which included my Mergress, Stirling Sharp Dressed Man etc. Very nice yet uneventful as it should be. Back in the confines of Villa Somnos and today’s shave brought me to the Rockwell R1. Much maligned by many who claim it to be inefficient and the like. “I need a Fatboy on “9” to get a close shave” some say. Well, loaded with a Personna Platinum today I figured I would revisit this one.

Soap or cream of the day really, the venerable Proraso Green which some how has eluded my grasp for awhile....(shhhh, that soap cabinet is deeper than Davy Jones’ Locker)...so it was found today and immediately put to service. Haven’t bowl lathered of late so it was very nice to grab the Fine Accruements lathering bowl and whip up a monster ton of lather. The 59 was my first Simpson and still a favourite. What a great scent...missed it!

So to work with the Rockwell R1 and through a wonderful three pass BBS shave! So now this one is a keeper and will most likely accompany me on the next vacay. No issues with efficiency here.

Friday my good friends, the weekend approaches! Have a great day, safe travels and happy shaves!
