The Good: Day 4 with the GFBT and the yellow blades and day 5 will follow easily as i am yet to feel any significant degradation of its edge. The razor is a joy to use now that i am dialling into its character. I like the balance and agility the thin handle affords and i feel safe with the FB head. It is a tight shaving angle (more so than any other razor i have used) but it's not difficult to find and once you do, the razor just sings in its very English way.

The Bad: I chose the BS Maca root because i wanted to see how this razor & blade shaved with the slickest soap i have. I bowl lathered and used plenty of cream and water, however my water is so pure that any shaving product just sucks it up and i ended up with a poor, unslick and unsatisfactory lather on the 1st pass. Lesson learned; Do what works for you, not what works for others. I Let half of the lather/cream go to a better place on the 2nd pass, re-lathered with much more water and got a really slick, usable lather. BS Maca will never win any awards for scent, but its performance is as good as anything.

The Ugly: The BS brush is the updated version. It costs €5 where as the old one costs €12. The loft is higher and tighter than the original.
Sounds good yea? Nope. Dreadful. When in use and painfully so if face lathering, the knot clumps up (no this is not the soap, i have tried this with a number of different lathers) and in doing so, splays inwards instead of outwards.This has the consequence of you stabbing yourself with the brush if attempting any other brush motion than circular. I have tried to use this a few times and gave up, PIFing it to one of my children (Who hates it as much as i do). In the spirit of the shaving Gods, i thought i would give it another try as i was using the Maca cream. I wish i hadn't.

That said, everything else turned out ok in the end. A nice, clean and confortable shave. Finished of with some Potters distilled witch hazel and a smudging of the Shea butter (To keep my face warm on this cold autumn morning).

How long will this blade last? The Gillette yellows are impressing me

Grooming Dept. Fortis today. 20 seconds to load Elite Razor Manchurian White brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Vintage Gillette Platinum Plus still in the Gillette NEW Short Comb. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with no aftershave today.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #224 Brush. I did two passes with the eBARBERSHIP Schick O Clone razor with a Schick Twin Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

PS This is a cool razor. It is probably the closest you will get to a real Schick O. However, it looks like eBARBERSHOP is no linger carrying this razor. I don't know if you can find it anywhere else.

These Gillette blades are very good - in fact I think they’re an excellent substitute for my Astra Greens so I’ll try to stock up with them. My man Jaco’s Klipspringer soap has it all - a lovely scent which I enjoy so much, tons of awesome lather, a delightful menthol sensation, and such wonderful skincare. These Bundubeard soaps also give fantastic blade glide - the razor skated across my face so easily. The Prep felt absolutely heavenly and the Bergamot Vetiver aftershave from Henri et Victoria went on icy cold with a beautiful scent which even my wife loves. Three passes did the job for me and my BBS mission was accomplished!
