I’m going to miss this soap when it’s used up. I’ve tried the new version and it’s ok. I prefer a hard soap, Plus the scent in the new one is a little bit off -- not really strong enough for me.

    Greetings,

    A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

I can't remember the last time that i used the Van Der Hagen soap, which was kindly gifted to me by a fellow member of TSR Forum (UK).

Like many other glycerine based shaving soaps it takes a little time & effort to get it to the consistency that i prefer, but well worth the effort leaving a good post shave feel.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups comfort shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd The Man Cobalt EdT to the pulse points.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

    Hi Friends,

    here my just ended shave.
    4CBCAE18-A6EB-4A01-9FED-AD71340AB1D2.jpeg
Razor: Merkur 23c // Blade: Personna red // Soap: Scheermonnik Berk // Brush: Omega 20102 // Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Great shave. The star of the Party was definitely the soap. Nice muted Sandalwood scent with great lather and even better skinfeel during and after the shave. Wonderful.

Have a great time, enjoy your shaves and stay safe and healthy.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Razor: Star Super Six
    Blade: Gem SS
Brush: Star Bone Handle 17mm Boar
    Soap: Ethos Vanilla Safi
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Ethos Dragonsbeard Skin Food Splash
    Fragrance: Ethos Dragonsbeard EDP
    Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,047

Again using the amazing Vanilla Safi generously gifted to me by Pete Patriot The Dragonsbeard Splash and EDP are a perfect pairing for it. Amazed at how well the 2nd use little 17mm boar whipped up a creamy slick lather even though I over did the water. Have a great day everyone !

John Beeman Little chicken in hot water

    Sunday:

warm shower with Murray & Lanman Lotus & Violets bar soap
    Handsome Rob Sandalwood PSO
    Schick Krona 3 passes
    Vi-John Super Platinum (1)
Vi-John cream in a warm bowl
    DublDuck boar
    Thayers Cucumber WH
    Crusellas Violet Water

Decided to give the Vi-John products another try after chatting with @Aztecmike about them recently.

I don't remember what razor I previously tried these blades in but I didn't do too bad with the Krona. Of course, the Krona is the type of razor that doesn't seem to be blade picky. I got a fairly decent shave but by the third pass the blade felt like a good blade would feel after the fourth shave when you can't make up your mind whether to pitch it or try for a fifth shave.

I worked the cream to death and made lots of attractive fluff but it lacks glide and doesn't want to stick to your face once you get to the third pass and there's not much stubble left for it to latch on to.

All in all it seemed like a "hotel products" shave. I got the job done and it wasn't terrible but they're not the products you'd buy to use at home.

Have a great week, fellow shavers!

    Sunday morning:

    King C. Gillette Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Gillette day 5
    Matas SS
    Nivea Cool Kick ASB
Murray & Lanman Florida Water AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick
    Bleu de Chanel Parfum

This Matas is the only commercial soap that I know of that’s made in Denmark and it wouldn’t win any awards for its scent because it hardly has any. It smells a bit soapy but it has excellent lather and pretty good skincare. The Nivea Cool Kick balm felt so moisturizing as well as soothing while the Florida Water aftershave gave me its great old school scent which never interferes with the lovely Bleu de Chanel. Another tip top BBS shave which was so enjoyable!

Have a good Sunday - be well and safe!
