SLANTemper, Tuesday Sept 6th 2022

Razor : Yaqi Slant, Mfg 2019, Aggressive range, this slant when using a steep approach(riding the bar) is one of the smoothest slants out there, I do place a 1 shim under the blade because there is a lot of bottom blade reveal, lots of audio feedback and just a joy to use IMO. I like to use a short handle(75mm-80mm) with aggressive razors because less leverage + easy to manipulate quicker & less weight. The only time I get a weeper is when there is a blemish on my face sheared off + avoid plunking on face at start also because of blade exposure and it will perform very well. I get some of the best closest stellar shaves with this razor!
Blade : Gillette silver blue (5), sharp & smoooth + reasonable longevity.
Soap : Gillette Pure cream, nice 5-6/10 clean unique scent with excellent lather qualities. Make excellent ubber lather from left over hard soap remnants in shave bowl.
Brush : Yaqi Aqua High mountain silvertip badger, excellent lather generator, pillow soft hair tips, nice gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Pinaud Clubman AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper= Excellent shave with my Yaqi slant with GSB blade. (It does not get any better a shave then this for myself.)

On vacation in August I went through TSA with Harry’s cartridge and it was crazy. I had to shave every day vs every other day, and it was like grinding down stubble pulverizing it to bits vs sheering it off DE shaving.

Glad to be back home.

Very nice 2-pass shave with no cleanup. i didn't want to create any irritation so, I stopped at 2 passes. Nice and close! I am amazed at how nice this shavette shaves! 2-pass WTG & ATG with no cleanup. No cuts, nicks, or errors. Zero feedback from alum bar.

Yes, I had a fantastic shave yesterday. Palmolive may be cheap compared to other creams and soaps but it’s always been a great performer. I’ll always keep it in my rotation!

This Yaqi Barber Pole synthetic is not only a gorgeous looking brush it’s such a great performer. You wouldn’t believe the thick, rich, beautiful lather it churned up from Fernando’s delightful Peppermint Lime soap which has such a gorgeous scent, its tallow formula gives it such fantastic slickness, the menthol sensation is powerful, and the skincare is A1. Needless to say the Prep delivered a wonderful cooling, moisturizing, and soothing postshave feeling while the Peppermint Lime aftershave went on frigidly cold and with no stinging or burning because it’s witch hazel based. Three glorious passes gave me such a super duper easy peasy BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely!
