SLANTemper, Saturday, Sept23rd, 2023.

Razor : Yaqi top aggressive slant, torsional type(AKA=YTAS). Mfg 2019>, upper mid to aggressive range. Interesting design of a slant razor. Lots of blade feel and a joy to use once mastered. I tend to use a steep approach (riding the bar) with a short handle for less leverage and more corrective angles more quicker . I do not plunk this razor at the start of a stroke because it's going to bite almost guaranteed, the results are stellar and whiskers do not stand a chance. It is not a Newbie razor and should only be used by experienced folks with a mature hand technique IMO. I do enjoy using this slant with blade shim underneath the primary blade to reduce any chatter + audio feedback is great to listen to while shaving. Had a stellar comfortable close shave this morning with no issues.
Blade : Gillette Astra SP (2) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. (Saint Petersburg steel is excellent)
Soap : Razorock "The Dead Sea", very nice unique scent that is addictive or very enjoyable + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Cavern lake" 24mm tuxedo synthetic knot, excellent lather generator,
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The Dead Sea splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave with no issues this morning with my Yaqi Top aggressive slant with a Astra SP blade. (It does not get a better a shave for myself with out peeling skin off.)

Freshly honed, with a new stone. I had a silky smooth 2 pass shave, that cut through 3 days of growth, ATG and WTG, with equal smoothness. This delivered a BDBS finish.

Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Davidoff Cool Water ASL./Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

The valet vc1 is my most infrequently used vintage SE razor....I have mentioned before the valet vc1 looks aggressive but IMHO it's quite mild however, that's not to say it isn't efficient enough, like the Gem Featherweight it will mow through stubble with effortless ease.....It took me a few shaves to adjust to this mild yet efficient vintage shaving tool, after that it was happy shaves.

Finishing the shave off a with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #446 Badger/Boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1902 Kampfe Brothers/Star Lather Catcher Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and then Aqua Velva Iced Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My dear brother Abir who owns Captain Nemo in Kolkata, India is another soap and aftershave genius - my God, his Green Ice smells so gorgeous. The scent profile is vetiver and lime with menthol, the soap is such a pleasure to lather up, the menthol sensation is pretty damned strong, and is it ever great in the skincare department. The Prep always delivers generously on the postshave care, and the Green Ice aftershave toner contains no alcohol so it doesn’t burn or sting, it has the same delightful scent as the soap, and it contains lots of menthol to give a fabulous coating of icicles in your face. Finally the Eau Sauvage fragrance is so beautiful this is one of the first fragrances I wore when I first moved to Canada. Three passes gave me a dynamite BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely!

Sunday Schick shave, September 24th 2023

Razor : Schick i2 injector with hydro magic feature variant-Mfg 1954-57, mild to tame mid range. Well built to last and gives a nice shave quickly if needed. I enjoy this razor because it nimble and works well. Had a comfortable close shave this morning.
Blade : Personna SS PTFE (3) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap : Razorock The Dead sea, nice unique scent with some excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "black marble" 24mm Tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. First Yaqi brush I bought this on sale 4 years ago and feels great + works well still.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The dead sea splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Schick i2 injector with a coated Personna blade. Not much left to shave from yesterdays closer shave.
