Razor : Yaqi 2nd generation or V2 Mellon head 316 SSP with a tear drop 316 SSP handle- Mfg 2023>, tame mid range, excellent design similar to the past called the "The Grande shave king " self lubricating razor 1940's era. The QC for machining & finish are excellent and glad I bought it back a few months ago on sale. Had a great stellar comfortable close shave.
Blade : Gillette Astra SP (4) sharp & smooth with excellent longevity.
Soap : Razorock Lavender, nice masculine scented lavender with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Robin" 24mm boar bristle brush- excellent lather generator, soft split end boar bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Great brush for my general shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a stellar comfortable close shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon head 316 SSP + a Gillette Astra SP.

Since I put the Orange Chill away after summer, I broke out a puck of Electric Sheep. I had forgotten how nice the soap is. Two passes this morning, no irritation and out the door for a 14 hour Friday.

The Col Conk Amber Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #447 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gold Dollar 280 straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Saturday morning’s experimental shave:

I must say that I was very impressed with how nicely the Dove soap lathered - ok, not really like a regular shaving soap but still very rich and creamy with plenty of slickness, and it left a comfortable postshave feeling. The Proraso Blue balm soothed the little bit of irritation I had, and the Aqua Velva Musk aftershave went on cool along with its nice scent. Two passes were more than enough to give me a great BBS shave - by the way my Plissoft 26 Monster is a helluva lather maker!

SLANTemper. Saturday, Sept 30th 2023

Razor : Razorock Wunderbar slant 316 SSP with a modified Micromatic handle- Mfg 2017-22 mid to upper mid range. Machining & finish QC are excellent with a unique design. Once mastered this razor produces excellent close comfortable shaves, l like to use a light touch + a Steep approach (riding the bar) with a short handle for less weight & leverage, the short handle reacts quicker to changing areas of the face. Had a close comfortable shave this morning with no issues.
Blade : Gillette 7oclock Permasharp(1) sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock Lavender, nice masculine lavender scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka express" 26mm Husky synthetic knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my RR Wunderbar slant with a Gillette Permasharp blade.
