The Vintage Life Licorice Shave Soap lathered well with the Semogue Owners Club Boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1905 Gillette Double Ring Razor and the Gillette Super Blue Blade X3 gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SLANTemper, Thursday Sept 19th 2024

Razor : Razorock Wunderbar 316 SSP slant with a modified Micromatic handle. Mfg 2017> mid to upper mid range. I like to use a steep approach angle (riding the bar) with a short handle(less leverage and quicker to respond to chin area) gives me some excellent results mostly. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Personna red(4) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. Top tier 6 blades in my den.Always works great in my RR Wunderbar.
Soap : Tabac puck, flowery scented with excellent lather qualities. Triple milled for longevity also.
Brush : Yaqi" Orbital ring" 24mm boar bristle knot. Excellent lather generator, Soft split end bristle hair tips, nice scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Fine fresh Vetiver with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my RR Wunderbar with a Personna red blade.

This Explosion de Cedrat is such a fantastic soap with a beautiful refreshing lemony scent as well as terrific lather and a very comfortable postshave feeling - it gives a good menthol sensation that goes so well with its scent so it’s a perfect soap for warm weather. The Kaffir Lime balm also has a lovely scent, it’s very moisturizing and soothing, along with plenty of menthol cooling. I splashed myself liberally with the Jean Nate and its scent is also beautifully refreshing in a very lemony way. I had another glorious three pass BBS shave and I hope the Astra Green can hold on for one more day!

A fantastic South African Grand Freeze made possible by two outstanding soap and aftershave geniuses - the Frosted Spearmint soap has the same beautiful scent as the Glacial Spearmint from Stirling, it’s also a beef tallow soap so it gives the same kind of awesome lather with lots of slickness, although it’s not as intensely mentholated as the Glacial Spearmint it’s still plenty cold and it’s chock full of soothing skincare. The Stoffel balm from Bundubeard is another menthol atom bomb with such a nice peppermint scent and it’s so moisturizing as well as soothing. Finally the Frosted Spearmint aftershave and I’m totally frozen. Despite the Astral Green blade being at the end it gave me one last hoorah with a terrific three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed so thoroughly!
