SE SOTD, Friday, September 20th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP head with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023> tame to mid range depending on what AC Feather blade used or shim used. The machining and finish QC is excellent + has a small razor head for nimble shaving.
Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Captain Titan mild(8) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. This blade works well in the Romulus razor, better than other blades IMO.
Soap : Tabac puck, slight flowery scent shave + triple milled soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "black marble" 24mm Timber wolf knot. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. My 1st Yaqi brush I owned about 6 years ago and have never looked back.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Fine fresh Vetiver with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus with a Kai Captain Titian mild blade. Great shave this morning!

Brush: Anbbas 24mm Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Proraso Sandalwood & Shea Butter Shaving Cream.
Razor: Supply V2 (**) base plate. - Personna Injector PTFE. (D4)
Razor: Gillette Guard. (Head) - (D4)

Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Boots Freshwood ASL./ L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

The Proraso Sandalwood & Shea Butter shaving cream never fails to provide an acceptable lather with a excellent sandalwood scent.

The Yintal Bronze and V3A head designs are the same, but probably due to the differences in molds the combination seems a little more aggressive than the original V3A. Could be just my imagination, though.

I spent the past two weeks using vintage razors, and switching to a more aggressive head after that, one can get careless. No cuts but the razor did signal at one point “hey buddy, slow down”.

The result is a very close, clean shave - with a very different feel than when using a, say, Superspeed. I think I could feel every micron of that blade while shaving but the razor is surprisingly forgiving despite that.

I would also say that it’s a little more efficient than my 2019 Mühle R41, even though R41 feels more aggressive.

The Vintage Life Licorice Shave Soap lathered well with the Semogue Owners Club Boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gebr. Becker 5/8 Straight Razor gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SLANTember, Saturday, Sept 21 2024

Razor : Yaqi SLOPE 316 SS torsional slant with a Yaqi brass nickel coated handle. Mfg 2022>, mild to tame mid range. Well machined and finish is adequate for my shave needs. If a person wants a little more blade feel just use a Kai SS (wider blade by 8/1000 thousands of a inch compared to a standard Gillette blade.). Standard Gillette blades give a DFS++ for myself. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette 7oClock super platinum. Sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Tabac puck triple milled. Flowery scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Cola" 22mm plissoft knot. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Interesting handle to grip and works well.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Nivea ever refreshing lotion(nice scent) + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi SLOPE Slant with a 7oClock SP blade.
