The TSD Iced Lime Shave Stick lathered well with the Jayaruh #455 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Micromatic Bullet Tip Razor and the Personna PTFE SE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Menthol Monday:

It’s kind of chilly here this morning so I decided to go relatively mild on the menthol!

L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/Astra Green day 10
PAA Cold Spices SS
Gold Bond Moisturizer
PAA Cold Spices AS Splash

Well, I must admit that I had much, much better lather from the Cold Spices soap today because I left my brush somewhat wetter before I started loading it and I only had to add a little extra water once. Truthfully and honestly the scent is indeed very close to the Shulton Old Spice soap and aftershave but the menthol sort of detracts from the scent a bit. This soap is extremely slick and the postshave feeling is fairly comfortable. The Gold Bond moisturizer gave me lots of soothing, and the Cold Spices aftershave went on really chilly - if there was no menthol it would be a great substitute for the Shulton Old Spice stuff. Three passes left me really BBS - another awesome shave!

Razor : Star bar lather catcher(Kampfe brothers, Brooklyn NY), Mfg 1919-20, mild to tame mid range. excellent stamping technology for that time period. Kampfe brothers of NY started the safety razor industry as we know it today, they were the pioneers of the affordable safety razor in the 1880's. They started out small and grew to worldwide fame. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning. Awesome razor with a fresh blade.
Blade :Gem Personna SS PTFE(1) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Speick stick(tallow), nice mild scent of spices with excellent lather qualities. Triple milled and my favorite stick soap!
Brush : Yaqi " Ferrari" 24mm boar bristle knot. Excellent lather painter, soft split end boar bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Great boar brush for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Nivea refreshing lotion + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Star Bar #4 LC with a coated Gem blade. Had a wonderful close shave, hard to beat this razor for consistent great shaves over the years of use. One of my best chance taking buys over the years of buying vintage razors.
