Razor : Yaqi Top aggressive slant with a Yaqi Brass nickel coated handle. Mfg 2019>, aggressive range. Note NOT the best razor for a rookie until skill level has seasoned a little IMO. I like to use this razor every once in a while to test my technique and skill level. This razor (YTAS) when mastered gives some of the closest shaves you can possibly accomplish with a safety razor or straight razor has been my experiences because of lots of blade feel or blade exposure. I like to use a Steep approach(riding the bar) with a short handle for quicker response around the chin area and less leverage. I also use a blade shim under the primary blade for rigidity + Don't plunk this razor at start because it bites. Had a close comfortable Stellar shave this morning!
Blade : GSB (4) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock Irish countryside, nice unique scent (Creed Irish green inspired) with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Bali" 24mm 3band badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Man did this knot bloom for a dense packed knot, still a very nice brush to work the face.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Irish spring with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 10.2 stellar.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 2 small blemish weepers=[IMG] Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Top aggressive Slant with a GSB blade. Great shave but a few small blemishes got sheered off(small round weepers) other than that had a stellar shave.

    Hi Friends,

Here my Shave of the Day (08.09.2024)

    IMG_4263.jpeg
    Razor: DOVO Primo 2 // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: Ach.Brito Lavanda // / Brush: Semogue 1305 // Aftershave: Alum Block - Ach.Brito Lavanda

    What a shave…

The Shave Cream has (for my nose) Citrus notes up front but you can still smell the Lavender in the back. The Aftershave is the other way round. Herbal Lavender up front with light Citrus notes in the back. So the two balance out each other again.

Lather was created fast in very good qualities, so the Primo had no problems going through the whiskers with ease. Great cushion and glide.

2 wonderful passes and the result was a BBS shave, very enjoyable.

The Alum Block and the Aftershave had only minor feedback.

    Smooth and refreshing.

Have a great time, enjoy your shaves and stay safe and healthy.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Lather Catcher Sunday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    b-pure Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #455
    Superior Lather Catcher
    Personna PTFE SE Blade
    Cold Water Rinse
    Lustray Spice After Shave

The b-pure Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #455 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Superior Lather Catcher Razor and the Personna PTFE SE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Sunday morning:

    King C. Gillette Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Astra Green day 2
    Bundubeard Impi SS
    Bundubeard Boomslang 1 ASB
    Brut AS Splash
    Brut Cologne

This Impi soap from Bundubeard is something else - is it ever great. First of all it has a very nice coffee/fruity scent, it’s glycerine based but it gives AWESOME lather that’s so thick, rich, as well as super slick and protective, there’s a mild menthol sensation, and it’s excellent in the skincare department. The Boomslang 1 balm is another Bundubeard treasure - it’s so moisturizing and soothing along with a bit of menthol cooling, and it smells so much like Brut. Finally the Brut aftershave and cologne - do I ever enjoy that sometimes. Three glorious passes gave me an easy peasy, fantastic BBS shave that was so enjoyable!

Wishing you all a good Sunday - until tomorrow![IMG]

Razor : Gem Junior bar lather catcher. Mfg 1907-11, mild range. Very easy going shave this morning. This was a popular razor for its time until the 1912 models arrived with the flip cap for securing the blade + gave Gem different ways to throttle aggression as time went on through the following decades of the different caps IMO.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(2) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside, nice fresh scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Rainbow" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic.
Post shave : Razorock Irish Countryside with witch hazel+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 9.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem Jr bar L.C with a coated Gem blade. There was not much to shave from yesterday's very close shave!
