Thank you. You inspired me to bring out my RR Old Type a few days ago. That is the handle that came with it. I noticed the other day that you had the UFO handle on yours. I like the UFO and I have a couple of them. I don't remember if I picked this handle out for it or if it was the one featured on the Old Type head in their photo. I change handles around sometimes, but I know this is mine's original handle because I have it tagged.

Pears Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia 24mm Synthetic.
Face Lather.
Lather: Vie-Long Shave Stick.
Blade: GEM coated. (D3)
Razor: GEM Micromatic. (OC) 1930

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, cold water Face Rinse/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Repara Moisturising Lotion. / Brut Sport Style ASL.

The Derby Shave Cream was face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Every-Ready 1914 and the Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Another nice and heavy razor

Blade felt a bit rougher than I remember, but ‘twas a heavy razor, which likely added to the effect. Despite very light strokes, I felt a bit roughed up around the chin, no blood, Alum reinforced the need to be careful

Two fantastic artisans contributed to this awesome shave - my dear brothers Fernando and Rod are both masters of the wetshaving trade. Fernando’s Frosted Spearmint soap and aftershave smell so beautiful - the soap is a tallow based treasure with such great lather, it’s downright frigid especially on the second and third passes not to mention how wonderful the skincare is. Rod’s Glacial Spearmint balm has the exact same scent, it’s icy cold, and it’s so soothing. Fernando’s Frosted Spearmint aftershave is another menthol atom bomb - wow!!!!! Finally the lovely lemony scented YSL fragrance finished off the job. Three passes delivered a most enjoyable BBS shave - no complaints whatsoever!

Today was a very interesting day! After a doctors visit I came home, with not great news, and got a shave in. And the relaxation was needed. I went with the Konsul again and then turned to HC&C for some awesome scents and skin feel!

So I have a spinal fusion and had gotten a herniation on the disc above, which can happen in the years after a fusion it’s been over a decade, and when attempting to get mom up after her fall a few weeks back I really did a number on it. I have not been able to lift my toes or tip of my foot in two weeks. Today the orthopedic informed me that this is serious and I will need emergency surgery next week to relive the nerve or it may get cut off and die. Thankfully it’s not painful as the nerve is pretty roughed up. So I go for an MRI tonight at 10 pm. And then surgery next week. All while dealing with mom in rehab with her broken hip and arm.

To say I needed some relaxation was putting it mildly. The Konsul is such a beautiful razor. Especially in the Prospector finish. I want to love it. I want to want it. Yet, two shaves in and I’m not getting it yet. I hear amazing things from people but have not gotten that myself. I know it’s only two shaves and I can try other blades and such but I wanted to be bowled over and am not. I’ll give it a few more tries before thinking if I have to move on from it.

And what can you say about Hendrix Classics & Co? Some of the best scents and post shave feel one can get! Thick, rich, thirsty lather. That bursts open and fills the room with an amazing scent. The Fixer is a soft, slightly sweet, warm and with a powdery fruity finish if that’s even possible! Oh man I smell good! And HC&C splash is one of those that feels like a coating of skin glaze almost to me. I love the feeling of applying it and post shave is amazing! Pete has done it again!

So as I go back to life to make my way through a little rough patch I am energized anew and ready to face what I must! And I smell damn good doing so!

Really nice setup . I'm sorry to hear about the medical issues that both you and your mom are experiencing. I hope things take a turn for the better.
Might I suggest you try different blades in the Konsul. I've had razors go from zero to hero, with the difference being a blade I've never tried in it before. I have listed on a couple of index cards razors and blades that have paired exceptionally well together for me.
