Back to a Russian cream this morning, and a tremendous amount of lather. Nord Ost smells very classy and nice, and it gives great post-shave care with an enjoyable menthol effect during and after a shave. This Svoboda balm, also from Russia, is a fantastic face-freezer--I love it!

I will not argue that technique just may be the biggest element to a good shave.

I notice for me it's not so much about the razor as it is the blade. Case in point:
This past Monday and Tuesday I used a Wilkinson blade in a '58 TV SS and a late '40s SS - sub-par shaves.
I followed up with the same razors yesterday and today, only loaded with an Astra SP - fantastic shaves.

A flat out great shave. Had the perfect water/soap ratio for a fantastic lather. That big ol' 2000 whipped up enough for 5 or 6 passes.

Today's shave reinforced my like for Astra SPs. I've found with other blades this razor can require more effort (usually get burned for it) for a shave as close as today's.

Been awhile since I've used Bayrum AS forgot how much Benjamin's stung.

Wring knot. 2 min. 12 pass. Rework 1st-2nd passes. Thinned at 10th pass. Shed once. To date 2.

I'm really liking this Case-it's very scrubby and like the Wee Scot it's not at all prickly and it's dense.

Another magnificent cream from India which used to be available in North America--Old Spice Original explodes with some of the richest lather that I ever experienced. The Wild Rain gel smells great, and it cools and soothes sensitive skin like mine on contact.

For me, the Wilkinson blade is very smooth and comfortable. Another nice shave indeed
