Steamy is right! It's humid as hell, I feel like I live in the Mekong River Delta!

    Hot Shower
    Glycerin Preshave
    Frederick Reynolds Chopper
    VDH Boar
    VDH Deluxe
    Witch Hazel/Corn Huskers Lotion
    Murray and Lanman's Rose Cologne

Great 3 pass BBS shave! I just don't understand how anyone could NOT like VDH soaps. Although I prefer the Glycerin flavor, deluxe is readily available, cheap, lathers like a dream and is plenty slick. I did 3 passes and a health face and neck wash, and there was still enough lather in the mug for two more passes.

Saturday - It's the weekend! :happy069 Time for the SEs

Prep: 30 minute soak with TSD ISZ PSB, strop blade 30/60, hot shower
    Coffee: Home roasted Tanzania, BLACK
    Strop: VB 2" Black Latigo
Soap: VB House brand + 3 drops M Bomb
    Brush: Vulfix 406, The Burlington
Str8: Boker SS St. Louis, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, RazoRock, ice water splash, Curve
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

    Shave Rating: 3 Blades

Sure, I got real close and real smooth. The soap is one of those that if this is all there was, I wouldn't complain in the least. Had a couple of weepers, no nicks. But, I tried too hard to get BBS. I've got to learn to ease up on the pressure. If it wasn't for the burn (that I'm still feelin'), today would be 5 blades, hands down.

So...I was in the den, eyeballing my gear. I picked up my Old Spice Mug that my MWF resides in and was sniffing on it. The next thing I know, I have my Omega Boar in one hand and my mug in the other and I am building a lather.

The next thing I know, I have wet my face and am face lathering the MWF with the boar...I whip around and grab the first razor I touch and bang out a one pass shave.

SWMBO walks in and asks me what is going on...I plead innocent and slap on the Master's Challenge and we headed out to the grocery store.

Welp...all I can say is a shave is a shave, and I will take them where and when I can get them...

    Sounds pretty familiar don't it?!?!

Gillette 1952 Steel Model 'Black Tip' Super Speed
    Astra Stainless-Blue Pack (Day1)
    Arko-Nem Soft Lotion, moisturizer
    Guerlain Habit Rouge EDT

Thursday and Friday I was in a Town called Turkbukur, and the city water was salty...Not Cool...and diffenantly not good for shaving...Fri. I didn't have fun shaving and the lather was only enough for 1 Pass. So I had to make more and it was almost impossible to do, and since the lather wasn't happening the Stainless blade was harsh and left a bit of stubble...
Sat. I tried an Astra SP and it was alittle gentler, but lather still not good so 2 passes and off to work, a little stubble under my chin...
Today we went to Antalya and the water was fine and the shave was very refreshing, with the Stainless...Tomorrow I might try the Platinum just for experimental purposes...Through all this the Black Tip is still a treasure and made things as doable as possible...

I've been having some crappy luck with my neck recently. I just haven't been able to get it really smooth and thought back to cartridge days when I would blade buff and come out with good quality results. So I headed over to youtube and watched a few advanced technique videos for the DE. I have a bit of irritation from getting the technique down, but I was rewarded with one of the best shaves I've had in a long time. Even with the irritation, I would give it a good solid 4 / 5.

5 blader, one of best shaves ever. The Astra Keramik is my new favorite blade. The sharpness/comfort
ratio is the best I've experienced. I know other factors could be at play but I strongly suspect the blade.

This is the second day I've used this set up. The second shave was an improvement from the first, but it was a below average shave at best. Had a hard time getting good lather with the soap. Went five passes with touch up to get smooth. I've been able to easily get BBS with a GEM micromatic. Maybe it's the soap. Can only get a thin foamy lather ? But, I'll keep trying till I get it right. :angry032

Made sure I went super easy (no pressure) after yesterday's burn with the str8. All things worked together for good. It was a great shave. BBS, even.

    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer

Another great shave which I did slowly and in a very relaxed frame of mind. I think I like this Super Speed/Wilkinson combination--these blades are to me anyway, a little more aggressive than the Sharps, but still mild enough not to cause shaving problems. ;) :D

@Alexey--I see you used the Proraso White bowl that I sent you--I used the Comme il Faut cream that you sent me! :)
