My shaving plans for tomorrow are as simple as this! :)

    Menthol Monday:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    #6 Horsehair
    Super Speed/new Rapira
Stirling Black Ice SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    444 AS Balm :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Osage Rub AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EdT

Although the Black Ice doesn't rate as a hyper-mentholated soap it's still got more than enough menthol in it to give a very, very nice cooling sensation and it's a pleasure to lather up with. Its skincare is so moisturizing and soothing as well, and its black licorice scent to me anyways, is very pleasant. The 444 balm is one of the best out there and just a small amount is needed to cool and soothe the skin after a shave. The Rubby Dubby Doo is hard to match for iciness and that refreshing feeling. ;) :D

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    Cella Crema da Barba
    Made Rite Boar Brush
    Gillette Flare Tip, E3
    Wilkinson Sword Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Pinaud Clubman AS

The Cella Crema da Barba face-lathered very easily with my Made Rite Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette Flare Tip and Wilkinson Sword Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Monday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Gillette Slim (S5)
    Blade: Racer (1)
    Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger
    Soap: Derby
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush

Barbasol pacific rush became my favorite summertime after shave. I just love it's scent with full of menthol. Racer blade was pulling my whiskers on the first pass but on the second pass I didn't have trouble. No nicks, weepers, etc and suprisingly I had a BBS but the first pass was a bit painful. I took that blade from a friend of mine and I won't probably buy racer blades in the future. I'll just keep shaving with it to see when it will cease cutting my whiskers.

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Glacial Obsidian
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Asco Red SS (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (4, 5, 6)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

After yesterday's amazingly close shave as an apparent result of letting the lather sit on my face longer, I opted to try the same approach today, knowing full well that I was flirting with menthol-based pain from the Glacial. My face feels pretty frozen, but didn't turn red or get painfully cold. For me, the Stirling soaps don't have quite as much cushion as the Ginger's Garden soaps I use, though they feel a bit more moisturizing; these things may be related. Without as much growth for the lather to soften or elevate from the skin, today's shave doesn't feel quite as close as yesterday's, though I'd still call it pretty near to BBS. I did catch one tiny weeper on my throat, going ATG on one patch that grows in the opposite direction to the rest of my neck's pattern.

    Blade: Supermax Platinum (2)
Post: cool rinse and Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Weekday shave of 2 WTG passes. It may be as close as any shave I get. This was the 17th day in a row for this soap and 8th day for the razor. Sticking with something always helps my technique.

    Williams menthol mug soap
    Gillette slim(I1)(7)

today's shave was classic. nothing I did today was new, or even original. same elements coulda been used fifty years ago. but man,I feel like a crisp new hundred dollar bill. other than a little knick on my chin, trying to eavesdrop on sportcenter, today a good a near perfect shave. finished with aqua velva ice blue.
hope y'all find the tried and true today. 20140908_073845-1.jpg

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Tech
    Blade: Bolzano (day 1)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Cream: Arko Extra Sensitive
Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG) + touch ups
    Post: Arko Extra Sensitive

Today is my wife's birthday, so I wanted a great shave. Even with the Bolzano I wasn't sure it the mild tech was up for the challenge of three days later growth. It was, even without the extra half pass/touch up I added. It never ceases to amaze me how effective my second XTG pass is...

I went with the Arko Extra Sensitive today as it is my wife's preferred scent... thankfully it's also a great performer.

My hot water faucet in my bathroom started leaking last night and I shut off the supply. So, this morning I used cold water. It was more refreshing than I remember. But, I don't think I got any better or worse of a shave than when using hot water. Nice, 3 pass and BBS for a beautiful Monday Morning.
