Warm shower with Stirling Naked&Smooth bath soap
    IanS hobbyist soap - lavender
    Vie-Long 13061M horsehair brush
    Gillette New Short Comb
    Supermax Platinum (6 and 1)
    Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Today is a shavecation day for my face, but my scalp was in need of some attention. This is only the 2nd day I've taken off from shaving my face since early January. Who knows, I might take tomorrow off as well!

2 passes over the noggin were enough to mow down 6 days stubble. I swapped out blades halfway through as the first Supermax was on day #6 and wasn't quite smooth enough. The new blade was smooth and did a fantastic job of cleaning up. Resulting Cue Ball Smooth shave makes me smile.

Have a great day. I am taking my son back to the orthopedic surgeon for a one week follow-up. We are all hoping for a walking boot instead of the splint and crutches, but expect to just be told to continue with more of the same. He is doing great, no pain meds for 36 hours and lots of smiles.

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo OC
    Blade: Perma-Sharp Super SS (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron by Caron

The Ginger's Garden soap lathered up like a charm this morning, and the first pass with the Perma-Sharp loaded Piccolo was smooth and easy. And then. . . .
The blade apparently died a grisly, violent death on the second pass, while allegedly gliding over my throat. The resulting nick took over a half-hour to stop bleeding, even after application of alum (ouch ouch ouch) and witch hazel. I did not intend to make it another Saturday shavecation day, but I suspect I'm going to need to.

OUCH! That does not sound like a nice experience! Few things are as unforgiving as a DE blade gone bad.... :signs131:

Perhaps you should take up a safer method of shaving...a straight, perhaps? :D

@Jasman , I had a similar experience with a Croma blade once, however it did not last one whole shave.

    Tabac SC
    Georgetown Scuttle
    Lijun Finest Badger
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Gold Bond Moisturizing Lotion
    Aqua Velva Musk ASL/Cologne

I seem to be stuck on the Tabac SC. I've been using it the last few days and enjoying the results; great cushion and glide as well as an intriguing scent. The big Columbus blade did it's work with gusto and .....I am now free to move about the yard on my riding mower. :D

Being as the WTG-XTG-ATG method worked this morning, I will use it again tonight.

Being as I need to be in Los Angeles on Saturday 13Sep14 for some family business (Aunt Edna's Memorial Service at the Church she went to I am told that she was a member of that church since she and my Uncle moved into their house that they and my Grandfather built in 1948). I will shave and shower tonight before I go to bed, so my Friday SOTD is for Saturday.
Hope all of you folks have a great weekend.

Mint Condition Schick I-1 Injector Razor - First Shave was superior to all previous injector shaves. Shaved closer and performed better under my chin than the longer handle Types J, L, and M. Kerry is correct. It's my new fav injector razor. This one will be tough to put down.

Everyone be sure to Have a Great Shaveday! TGIF! :eatdrink047:

Wow,sorry you had a bad experience with the Perma-Sharp Supers.I get nothing but great shaves with them and they last 5 shaves, including dome shaves.I had a similar experience with the Schick Injector Blades, nothing but bloodshed,I think I had a bad batch.

the I1 is also my favorite injector. Favorite razor period, rivaling my other favorite- the ER 1924. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Here's to more excellent shaves

As I've mentioned before, I have a surgical scar on my neck, which can make shaving some spots tricky. This morning's carnage was right along that particular scar, which probably contributed to how difficult it was to stanch.

I'm glad to see you using this razor instead of leaving in its packaging. I always feel lucky when I find something that is NOS, but I'm not afraid to use it either.

Do you really think it shaves better than the type M? I love my M and don't want to have to buy another razor, but I will, if necessary! ;)

    WP_DS20140912.jpg Schick E type
    Personna injector
    Muhle SilverTip Fiber V2
    3P

Excellent very creamy lather from the 3p. The E feels quite a bit harsher than the J and I injectors
