Description: See title Time: 1 hour Difficulty: Easy Serving Size: enough for me Ingredients: 2 large Egg Whites 1 tsp salt 1 cup sugar 1 stick (8 tbsp) butter 2 tsp Worchestershire sauce 2 tbsp Paprika 2 tbsp cayenne pepper (or to taste) 1 cup (.5 lb) Walnuts 1 cup (.5 lb) blanched Almonds 1 cup (.5 lb) Pecans Preparation: Preheat oven to 325° F Bring butter to room temp Instructions: In a bowl, with an electric mixer, beat egg whites with salt until very foamy. Gradually add sugar, Wooster sauce, paprika and cayenne. Stir in nuts and butter, combine well, and spread in large cookie sheet (shallow baking pan). Bake nuts in middle of oven, stirring every 10 minutes, until crisp and golden......about 30-40 minutes total. Spread nuts on a sheet of foil and cool. Break up nut clusters and serve. Makes about 4 cups.
Can I add an Alternative? about 2 cups brown sugar, I do this by eye based on my nuts, about 3-5 large eggs beaten and mixed with the sugar. You want a paste about the consistency of Elmers glue. Add nuts and toss by hand, gloves are a good thing or a spatula. Place on a sheet pan and bake in 350 oven for 10 min stir and rotate, 10 minutes stir and rotate. Take them out before they dry all the way. Leave to cool, they will harden. BTW, add what ever you want after you place your nuts on a sheet tray. Egg Whites not whole eggs. Thanks Rick.
