yeah. They didn't think that through so good, considering the Daleks appeared in the second episode. I wonder how the pitch went? Writer: "hey guys, we're gonna introduce this intensely aggressive and angry race of tank-warriors called Daleks in the next episode. They speak in a nails-on-blackboard kind of voice, and they want to exterminate every living thing besides themselves! Producers/ executives: "That won't scare the kids at all. I'm sure they'll want plush Dalek dolls for snuggling at bedtime. Approved!" Writer: oh and... (mumbling) they can't climb stairs and they look like pepper shakers. *Ahem* Hack* And about our request for a line item on the budget for new facades for the time machine? I mean, TARDIS?...
They brought back Sara Jane and K9.. love if they'd work in the Bakester again into this new series. Those jelly babies and that scarf gave the show a touch of classic English humor...
That would also be awesome, but as I understand it, Baker has distanced himself from everything Who related.
sounds like something from the late Tennant era, when Donna was the companion. As for true, I'd say they're waaaaay overthinking it. I got into Doctor Who because I liked monsters, spaceships, and watching stuff get blown up every now and then. So I guess nothing's changed. I don't like the modern trend towards soap opera melodrama on Who. I nearly gave up on the restart at the end of the Tennant era because it turned into a silly love fest. I hated Donna. By the end of her time I didn't like Rose much either. EDIT: the sonic screwdriver didn't appear until the mid 70s and disappeared for a chunk of the 80s if I remember right.
Donna and Rose annoyed the hell out of me too. Tho, what's-her-name Mrs. Who/ Pond's daugther played by Alex Kingston, I like.
Sara and K-9 also had a successful children's spin off which filmed until Sara Jane died. I think there were 3 seasons... "The Adventures of Sara Jane" or something like that.
Indeed.. I agree about Donna but I kinda like Rose..then again I'm partial to Piper. She's actually somewhat diversified in her performing endeavors...
You mean Dr. Corday? That's another thing that's climbing up the annoys-mike-list. That actress is old enough to be Matt Smith's mother. I can't suspend disbelief enough to get past the age difference.
That's the title. Haven't watched it but I've thought of introducing it to my kids. Piper's a good actress, and I liked Rose in the first season of the restart. The actress that played Donna however... I don't like that character and I don't like that actress' work. EDIT: and poor K-9. I wonder where I can get a k-9 toaster, though. That would be cool. Although he did end better than Kamelion.
Yeah.her. Tho the ages diff didnt bother me. Adventures of sj was pretty good actually tho clearly geared toward children. Saw some of it when my nephew was younger. Certainly better by far than the carp they see on disney chanel.
With a new Star Trek and a new Star wars film coming out, it looks like Hollywood is really ramping up the ol' FTL engines. I'd love if they'd get into the Yuuzhan Vong scenario...
