The article speculates that the new doctor could be a woman..a trans gender regeneration..

 

Too much of a break with tradition, imho. I just hope the Doctor doesn't get even younger. Otherwise, we're back to the Romper Room crowd that the show originally was written for. Rupert Grint as speculated might be interesting if I could get the Harry Potter association out of my mind.

edit: Torchwood's Ianto (can't remember his real name) might be interesting too if they can de-priss him a bit, but that would be a complicated cross over.

That could happen in a parallel dark universe..theoretically speaking..

 

they already cast a pop star as a companion (Billie Piper). I'm thinking the only thing keeping them from approaching Beiber is the fact that he's Canadian, not British.

I'm deeply skeptical of the process for choosing the next doctor. I don't really like the past two doctors (Smith and Tennet). I wish they'd pick someone older- not necessarily white, not necessarily male, but older nonetheless.

 

Thankfully, disqualified as he's not British.
