I love Star Trek Continues! I met the guy who plays Kirk (Vic Mignogna) on a flight from Atlanta, GA to Houston, TX around 10 years ago when I used to live in Houston.. also where Vic lives. He was big time into Star Wars at the time and we talked about it most of the way back to Houston. He mentioned one of his webistes was Lightsabreworld.com which I checked out immediatey when I got home. You can see Vic as a young ObiWan on the site. LOL. Anyway, he is quite an interesting person to know. I email him once in awhile to stay in touch. He's a devout Christian and also does voiceover work for a lot of Anime projects. He's popular at conventions. The last time I saw Vic was at DragonCon a couple of years ago. I highly recommend Star Trek Continues. It really feels like you're watching an episode of the TOS era. they have the sets, lighting, cast behavior and interactions well duplicated. Richgem, thanks for making me aware of this thread!
You're welcome. Not sure if raktageno mentions it in this thread or if you saw it, but he's involved with a Voyager podcast over at trekmate called "the delta quadrant." He's the "Geno" from Oklahoma.
Those shows do seem to be gaining some traction. Lol glad to see that someone else has noticed that series.. To add a nice touch, they've also been interspersing original series cast members. There was an extension if you will, done of the Charlie X with original cast..sort of Charlie X vs Gary Mitchel which turned out well I thought...
I had to look that one up.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tripping_the_Rift Don't think you can beat Red Dwarf for sci fi comedy though.. https://www.youtube.com/user/RedDwarfHQ
Please do! A note, check out a newer episode first to see how far the show has come. In fact, the episode that dropped today has a special guest. Manu Intiraymi, yes Icheb himself was there to review Child's Play with us! http://www.trekmate.org.uk/tdq-childs-play-with-special-guest/
Speaking of things on Star Trek actor's heads... a few years ago, I got playful with Photoshop and some slides I acquired from cutting floor clippings from the original series I obtained through Lincoln Enterprises in the 1970's. (Actual scenes that didn't make it onto the show... if you want to know more, let me know) I created a series of five photos regarding mostly Spock and his addiction to wearing a Fez. I had a Fez and photographed it in various directions and then pasted it on Spock's head and also one shot with Kirk wearing it. I created an album on Flickr with humorous titles to go with the shots. You can see them here. Let me know what you think...
There is a couple groups working on Star Trek projects not related to the big box office pictures. They seem to be done pretty well and keep to the story line and odl time line of Star Trek before JJ Abrams remake that has Kahn destroying Vulcan and changing the timeline. Here is a few of the links. Give them all a look if you Love Star Trek as I do. Live Long and Prosper. http://www.startrekphase2.de/en/ , http://www.startrekcontinues.com , http://startrekrenegades.com/home
I keep seeing rumors about Captain Worf; anyone know anything that indicates this isn't just vapor-scripting?
Yes that was discussed but at this time paramount is not interested in doing another Star Trek Series according to Micheal Dorn.
