LOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL "Tabac lathers up so easily, it should be illegal." Thank goodness, it's legal my man! Enjoy your new Haul in good health!
Just got my Stirling soaps in today. Sharp Dressed Man and Sandlewood along with a sample of Earl Grey. The scents seem...subdued. We'll see how they are once lathered. Review to come.
I ordered four soaps from them. This morning I tried the Black Cumin and Orange scent. It has a nice mix of citrus and spice, which I have found is my favorite type of scent formulation. It is very soft soap, and makes a real nice lather.
Rui-Rod will ship Internationally: I have been using the Scots Pine for a while now after finishing my first puck of Margaritas in the Arctic. I decided to try the Coniferous sample Rod sent me with my last order today. The scent is like a pine mountain forest, but not overwhelming. As expected, I got a great slick, smooth, cushioned lather and a great shave. So far, I have used MITA, Scots Pine, Tea Tree, and Coniferous. I have had equally good results with all of them. Stirling has just added more scent to some of their formulas and made some slight adjustments to help get even better lather(I have not had a problem, even with my hard water). The Unscented has come down in price and a few have increased. None are over $6 a 4 oz. puck.
I ordered 2 soaps a few days ago. But i don´t know if they are shipped or not...is it normal that i didn´t received a mail or anything?! I´m a little afraid right now...
Did you pay with paypal? If so, Rod usually goes back in and marks the package/order shipped, which will trigger an email from paypal. You could always login to your paypal as well to check if he marked it shipped.
I am sure there is nothing to worry about. Rod usually ships the same day or the next business day. I look forward to your reports on it!
Thanks. I hope for it. I have to take a look at PayPal when i'm home from work. I'm so curious about this soaps...heared so many good things about it. Woody scents are so lovely... Pine & Cedarwood from Mike's is sooooo awesome...Wow!!! Makes my heart beats faster.
So, i looked at the PayPal Account and the status is "shipped". Very fine!!! Now everything should be ok. Hopefully!!!
I was back with the Scots Pine today. I thought I would post a shot of today's lather. I have that good ol' rock hard south Texas water. I have not tried any of Rod's latest formulations with the added scent and even easier lathering? I will have to order a couple pucks soon.
The lather looks very very nice...Not bad!!! Next time i will shave with the Ozark Mountain. Hope my lather will be as good as yours. Looks like cream on a cake. Yummy!!!
The licorice smell is very strong when you open the package, but when you lather it up it fades/blends nicely into the soap smell. Which is how I felt about their bacon scent. I keep those two in their own tupperware containers.
Sunday will be my first shave with the Ozark Mountain. Haven't ripped it out of the "paper". The scent is heavenly. I hope the scent will be the same when it's lathered up.
Have tried his Frozen Tundra and Margaritas in the Artic shave soaps as well as his bath soaps. Both of the shave soaps have a wonderful aroma, lather somewhat easily with the water here in Boise ID but for me, only so so overall in the shave department. Really tried to like it as noted by the aroma above but probably will not order replacement pucks anytime soon. On the other hand, family really likes his bath soaps and we have ordered something like 15-20 bars trying out the different scents. They are not fancy dancy looking like some of the other soaps such as Mamma's, QCS or Mikes that we also have but great on the skin and cant beat the price.
I got an order today of a puck of cool and several samples. I am over the moon for the anise scent and will be ordering a puck of that and barbershop on my next go around with Stirling Soaps. I shaved with bay rum and it smells really nice too. The only soap I have been using is VDH deluxe and I only face lather that so I will have to spend some time getting the lather right. My lather wasn't great but my shave was irritation free and that is something I can't say often. Very little sting from my Clubman after shave. Very smooth shaving soap and moisturizing as well. I can't wait to get the lather dialed in. Rod threw in a sample of a new soap, which may have been part of a custom order I am not totally sure on that one, called Glacial. It is supposed to be a true "face freeze" like some of the other soap companies are doing. It has a spearmint wintergreen type scent which is pretty nice. I will report back if I try it tomorrow.
