Saturday Shave Lather: Sudsy Soapery Triple-Butter Unscented Non-Tallow Soap Brush: Made Rite with APShaveCo 2BED synthetic knot Razor: Henson v2 mild Blade: Suneko Platinum (3) Post: Sudsy Soapery Unscented Balm I love the lather from the Sudsy Soapery soap, always thick and slick. This third shave from the Suneko blade was smooth and comfortable, although I could detect a slight reduction in sharpness.
Tuesday, Jan 16, 2024 Lather: Southern Witchcrafts Incorporeal Unscented soap Brush: Certifyd with Synbad knot Razor: Henson mild Blade: Suneko Platinum Post: Southern Witchcrafts Incorporeal Unscented Aftershave Splash I used a new Suneko blade today on 2 1/2 days of beard growth. The first pass with the grain was a bit harsh even though I was thinking carefully about not applying any pressure. I didn't get any irritation, though. The second pass across the grain was more comfortable, and I did a partial third pass, as I typically do, going lightly across the grain the grain in the other direction in my moustache area -- not that I have one, but the place where it would be if I did and on my chin. I ended up with a smooth, close result, without any irritation. The Southern Witchcrafts splash is nice soothing post shave, with no alcohol, so there was no sting. I didn't like the harshness of the first pass. As I recall, the previous Suneko was a bit harsh the time it was used, and then was nice and smooth for several shaves afterward.
Today, I tried a Suneko blade for the first time and I was impressed by how sharp and smooth it was. I highly recommend them. Here was the setup for this morning’s shave.
