That's why I sell on eBay. I couldn't bring myself to ask for those prices on a BST thread. Back to topic: Super Speeds are neat.
Agree I've done similar but using a different user name on the bayz. Proud to say I have a 100% feedback rating even though mostly buy than sell. My most recent 8 sales have all been razor related.
Because of this thread, I took out my C4 silver tip super speed today and it was my SOTD. What a nice, smooth and quick shave! Everybody should own at least one.
Truth. I'm partial to the earlier (mid/late 50's)Flair Tip Super Speeds. The handles are a little bit beefier than the early editions. My pre arthritic hands couldn't deal with the Black Tip or 40's style. I have a Ranger Tech that has a similar sized handle that is tough on the joints too but selling that would be a horrible thing to do.
Curious, have you tried the British variants ? http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...llette-flare-tip-razors-pictures-added.50360/
I found a '55 SS blue tip in pretty decent condition for $25 at a local flea market today. Didn't purchase as I thought $25 might be a little steep, but not far off. Any thoughts anyone? Good buy?
25 would have been on the money for that razor. I'm sure you can pick one up for a little less...in time...lots of time.
I'm partial to the British Rockets. They tend to be a bit more aggressive. Ive been on the lookout for a Brit Red Tip. One doesn't see them on the Bay often.
I'll agree with that. Once you get past the silver tips, the price goes up as they're less common. I picked up a decent blue tip last year for $22 and I thought that was great. It was my weekend shaver till I got into straight razors.
First shave with the Kai in my NEW last night. Tonight, the second shave in my '57 blue tip. As close to BBS as I've gotten so far. I reckon I'm on the something.
