oops, late to the party on my first response. Great point @HolyRollah But terminology also depends on ones point of reference. As you point out "Highway One is the (aka Pacific Coast highway)" and technically designated California SR1. In Oregon and Washington, US 101 is also referred to by locals as the Coast Highway or Pacific Coast Highway. I assume your photo is a shot of 101 in northern California as the terrain is somewhat as rugged as the 101 in Oregon / Washington: Cannon Beach - Oregon. I'd imagine that US 101 in SoCal (Santa Monica perhaps?) does have some of the more typical "sandy ocean beach" shots that folks are drawn to. Anyway, sorry for the thread hijack. Good luck on the new soaps and names @Salty Belle ! Hey how about The Seacoast Highway? (That hits all Coasts - left, right and central. Yeah I know, I won't quit my day job.)
I have problems with sandalwood irritation in shaving soaps as well. But, both of these do sound awesome.
Good points, Rufus. My reference was mainly the CA section of 101; not the Pac northwest. For the majority of CA, 101 is inland.
You are actually both correct. There are areas in CA where SR1 and HWY 101 merge together as the Pacific Coast Highway. I've driven the entire length and it's beautiful. Great name for a soap
H2O Spa makes a shampoo scent called Sea Marine, and River Soap makes a bar soap scent called Ocean Mist. These are my favorite clean scents for spring and summer.
Wow! I am so looking forward to sometime in the future be roadtrippin' all over the US. In a few years time...
I am still stuck on a name for the TBD soap scent! Can we brainstorm some more? Here is the description again: 'Brisk seas, rocky cliffs, damp earth and crisp, cool air just before the rain. A windward breeze carries green notes and soft florals of lily, jasmine, rose and violet over the sand. Earthy tones of sandalwood and cumaru seed balance this rich, coastal aroma.' Here are some suggestions from a few of my local guys as well as many of you here...I may have missed some. Coastline Rugged Coastline Rocky Coast Coast Highway Pacific Coast Highway Seacoast Highway Thunder Coast Cliffs of Dover Big Sur Perfect Storm Add on to the list, or vote for any of the above...
As someone who was born and raised in socal. I/we always referred to pacific coast highway/highway 1 as PCH.
Kt, I've been using your aftershave balm for every shave lately, the way it makes my face and head feel is amazing!! Silky smooth. Very very nicely scented. A must have with every order. Kerry
